So I had a young woman at the farm today to observe and eager to learn. I walked her around and then I had a lesson. It was of the super fun lesson variety with all the teens and we rode in the ring and then jumped out and about the new jumps in the field. Her comment at the end whe I asked was "I could feel all the love"
My kids LOVE the horses. Even when they are rotten (penny I am looking at you). Even when they might be overwhelmed and need patience. Even when it is not their day. They feel the Gratitude I do. I cannot imagine a better thing to pass along and I can't imagine a better crew to carry it. I love all of you. That is all ❤️

Fear Factor (starts no earlier than 11:30)
One un judged warm up fence and then one single 2’ fence. Fill and decorations will be added each round to make the most spooktacular fence. Last and bravest win.

Jumper Derby
Heights at 18”, 2’, or 2’6”. Course will consist of 5-6 summer fences and 5-6 cross country fences. Closest to optimum wins

Jumper Derby pairs.
Same course but ridden in pairs

Mystery Course 0/f
A course is drawn from a hat and read to the rider as they jump it! Clean rounds will compete in a timed jump off.

Build a Course- Rider designs a course to jump the most jumps they can within a time limit

Sooo many firsts today for the Heart’s Corner Farm crew at Whippoorwill Farms! Tori Smith and Chewy ventured out for the first time as a team and put in two clean well ridden rounds for reserve champion! They are going to be a formidable pair! Amelia had her first jumper course ever on the venerable Christmas Belle and took the fastest time and Champion of their 2”division! Tina and Kate tackled 2’6” for the first time and the height proved no problem but a tricky triple combo masquerading as a line proved a bit too much for her baby brain. Regardless she tried her damndest and Kate could not have ridden her better. June rode vetran Spree in HER first jump courses and was super polished and focused and came home with a reserve for her efforts! The judges were very positive and the environment was great as always. And the ponies- the ponies are beyond. They are calm and wise and willing and I can’t believe they let us do these crazy things!

Okay Y’all here’s the schedule for tomorrows SUNDAY FUNDAY at Hearts Corner
10-12:30 riding games for kiddos! Leadline/ helper available if needed! The classes are Egg and Spoon, Red Light Green Light, and Ride a buck. There will also be a horseless class for any and all to wrap up the morning!
12:30 until we will run the games for the adults and older kiddos and throw some speed in the mix. The Catalog Race, Speed Barrel, and Command class will take part on the flat, Counting Strides over a pole, and Chase me Charlie to wrap up!
All day long we will be running pony rides and pony painting, as well as open schooling over the handful of cross country fences and jump course set in the back field. You can also cut through to the woods to the adjoining field and explore. Students of HCF that want to participate will be able to use a school pony, everyone else should bring their own😜. We will have some snacks and sweets for purchase as well as the cutest horse cookies around. Come and join us at 1341 Wake Rd in Wake! Can’t wait to see you all!
