Okay Y’all here’s the schedule for tomorrows SUNDAY FUNDAY at Hearts Corner
10-12:30 riding games for kiddos! Leadline/ helper available if needed! The classes are Egg and Spoon, Red Light Green Light, and Ride a buck. There will also be a horseless class for any and all to wrap up the morning!
12:30 until we will run the games for the adults and older kiddos and throw some speed in the mix. The Catalog Race, Speed Barrel, and Command class will take part on the flat, Counting Strides over a pole, and Chase me Charlie to wrap up!
All day long we will be running pony rides and pony painting, as well as open schooling over the handful of cross country fences and jump course set in the back field. You can also cut through to the woods to the adjoining field and explore. Students of HCF that want to participate will be able to use a school pony, everyone else should bring their own😜. We will have some snacks and sweets for purchase as well as the cutest horse cookies around. Come and join us at 1341 Wake Rd in Wake! Can’t wait to see you all!

So my new barn is so awesome I now have TWELVE of my herd happily eating and living in this space divided into three fields. They all come and go as they please into awesome dry rubber matted and straw bedded goodness. Two feeds of mostly forage based diet a day and unlimited hay in hay huts and everyone is healthy wealthy and wise. I have four more geldings to get out of the mud and then I will be opening up slots for boarders. I will have room for people who want to ride and lesson for the good of them and their horse. We have show and hunting opportunities available, but the important part is the desire to always be better horse people. Openings by summer 2024.

At Heart’s Corner Farm we recognize that horses are for far more than riding. This spring we are fulfilling a decades-long dream of reaching out to our community and inviting them to enjoy some
of the other learning opportunities these incredible animals have to offer. In partnership with Kelly Moss, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist and experienced practitioner of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, we will be offering a series of workshops that tap into life skills and lessons we could all benefit from on our journey towards personal growth and development.
The first in this series is a day-long workshop focused on fostering emotional resilience, specifically in girls ages 11-16. Space is limited, but any and all are welcome to apply- no horse experience required. The girls will spend their time engaged in hands-on experiences with horses, designed to improve their ability to understand connection and relationship, teach them to better handle discomfort and manage their emotions, and help define boundaries and self-awareness.
The team of Kelly, Laura, and the horses of Heart’s Corner Farm are looking forward to taking the first step of this journey with you!

The Team...
Laura Gordon is a horse professional, teaching horses and humans of all ages for over 25 years. She attended her first Equine-Assisted Therapy training in the EAGALA model in 2007 and was hooked. She just renewed her certification last year (where she
met Kelly Moss in a moment of kismet) and can’t wait to explore this awesome new way to share the (worlds best) herd at Heart’s Corner Farm.

Kelly Moss is a clinical psychologist with over 20-years experiencing working with teens and adults from all facets of life. She entered the horse world in 2010, when her then 6-yr-old
daughter wanted nothing more than to ride horses. Kelly supported her daughter's junior riding career as a traveling horse show mom, where she too fell in love with these amazing animals. Kelly began running equine therapy groups in 2017 and has seen the benefit of the human-horse connection. She can't wait to share this experience with you.

Okay gang we are gonna try to sneak in a six week winter session for after school lessons before we start back in earnest for spring! We may have to dodge a little weather but I am game if you are! If you or your kiddos are interested message me your email address and I will send out all the information. If we end up with too many makeups we will either roll them over or do a weekend day or two! Let’s see if we can pull some pony fun out of this mess😂. Adults can pick some daytime slots. I’ll have evening lessons available when the time changes. New riders are more than welcome!

Mike and the girls and I (including Anna Foster and Amelia) worked late to get the fences done to get the horses in their new beautiful run in built by Bill StLouis and crew. It needs some overhangs and gutter and lots of finishing but it’s beautiful and dry and I am so excited to have it! Next a feed room and overnight stalls. Then onto the boys side. Bit by bit we are gonna crawl out the mud😜.

Heart’s Corner Farm barn party December 22nd!!Old friends, new friends, people who just wanna be friends are all welcome!! I liked the Mediterranean pita bar last year so I am doing it again. Cause it’s my party and I can do whatever I want😂. Bring apps and desert or anything “on theme” and contribute to the bar if you like! If you want to play the present game bring a new or new to us gift at or below the $50 price tag. Party starts at six and goes until y’all have to make it to your next party.

Hey Y’all ten week fall session starts 9/11 and runs for ten weeks. The session is $350 for ten group hours or ten half hour privates and I am making groups now so throw your hat in the ring! New riders are welcome but will likely benefit from some half hour privates to get up to speed. Text, email or Facebook message me for your spot
