Update on our Maggie girl: she attended doggie daycare yesterday and had a blast! Hopefully she slept well last night and is ready for a new day!
Black beauty Maggie is an almost 2 yr old girl surrendered because she was wayyyyy too much dog for her former owners. As you can see, she's a high energy, non stop gal who can jump 6' in the air easily. She is alpha and bossy but does get along with submissive dogs. She lived with two other older dogs in her former home. Maggie will need some obedience training, some work with house training and is not the dog for an inexperienced GSP owner. She will crate at night for bed but doesn't like it. She's a gal who is going to need a TON of exercise. Good with kids and people but a bull in a China shop so little kids can be knocked over easily and would have to be supervised around her. She does have hunt potential.
We're looking for a foster or adopter. Please read the pinned post at the top of the page for information about adoption. If you'd like to foster go to our site and complete a volunteer application. https://server1.charityadvantageservers.com/client/GSPRescueNewEngland_D3DHE0G2XF/volunteer_application.aspx
Fencing is an absolute MUST for this girl. All of our dogs are within New England and we only place here locally too.
5 month old Augie is available for foster/adoption.
Please read the pinned post at the top of the page for information about adoption. New England residents only please.
Sadie!
Our trainer is going on vacation and Sadie needed to know. It’s obvious this is a mutual love match but this girl really needs a place of her own! No dog should live on boarding for so long. Please read about adoption on the post at the top of the page and consider making this joyful girl part of your family. ❤️❤️
Sadie
Agility anyone? Sadie is still in boarding and just waiting for the right person to love her and take her home. She’s getting the best of care as you can see but she still needs her own person. Could that be you? (No other dogs or cats pls.) DM us for more info if you think you’d love to have Sadie in your home! ❤️❤️
How happy is Sadie?! She’s still waiting for her perfect home with no other dogs. She obviously LOVES to swim and would enjoy a home with a pool or pond. Sadie is going to make a lovely companion for the right person. Maybe you?
8 yr old Jakey is not in our program but his owner needs help with rehoming him. He does not get along with the other dominant male dog in the home but obviously does well with the smaller females.
House and crate trained, Jake is up to date with all vaccines. Jake loves kids, cats not so much and will make a fine family dog. Playing ball, car rides and being with his people are all things Jake enjoys.
If you're interested in more information please email me and i will put you in touch with his owner. Jake is currently in Maine.

So, Miss Annie came to us from a shelter who pulled her from a neglect situation. Spending pretty much 24 hours a day in a crate, Annie was left to her own devices to survive. She was covered in urine burns from laying in her own "stuff" and finally was saved by the shelter.
Well, just look at her now! She's out in doggie daycare and having soooo much fun. She's a great dog, about 2 yrs old, needs some obedience training, She's a velcro girl who loves to cuddle, great with other dogs, not so great with cats. She is ready for a home!
If you're interested in adoption please read the pinned post at the top of the page. If you are an already approved adopter and are interested in sweet Annie, please email me. [email protected]
New England residents only please.
Lexi and Ruger at play. See post below this one for more info on each.
We have a bunch of doggos coming into our program. Lexi and Ruger are a bonded 6 yr old pair. They'll be at our vet getting health updates and temperament evaluations and then be available for foster. Definitely hunt potential. No cats or small critters. More to come as we learn more about them. Lovely dogs!
Just a reminder. We are here to help not to pass judgement on people who need to surrender their dogs no matter what the reason. It is contrary to our mission. Negative comments will always be deleted and the person blocked if it continues.
This sweet boy came in yesterday. He’s scared and not quite sure what’s going on yet. He’s young, been passed around from family to family via Craig’s List and finally ended up in a safe place with us but doesn’t know it yet. He had no vaccinations so we’ve started him on them, he’ll need to be neutered and evaluated for temperament once he settles a bit. He’s not house trained nor has he had any type of obedience training. We’ll be looking for a foster in a few weeks once we know more about him so he can learn how good life can be.
There are always dogs coming into our program so if you’re interested complete an application to adopt and get yourself on our waiting list. Don’t wait until you think you see a dog you’d like…chances are that by the time you’re through the application process that dog will be unavailable.
Aria has come so far in boarding but she is still looking for a foster or potential adoptive home. Aria is 2 yrs old, spayed and up to date with all vaccines. She is loving and a velcro girl as you can see.
While Aria is doing well at the boarding facility, she needs a foster or adopter willing to spend some quality time with her, exercise her daily, and continue her obedience training and confidence building. Aria is on some anxiety meds to help her feel more comfortable in new situations and is responding very well to them.
Aria will never be a dog park dog but she is fine to be walked on leash in situations where other on leash dogs are present. A home with a large fenced yard with lots of room to run would be ideal for her to let her zoomies out. She's not the dog for everyone and prefers to be an only dog in a home with older kids.
Red more about Aria here: http://clientsv1.charityadvantageservers.com/client/GSPRescueNewEngland_D3DHE0G2XF/adoptable_dogs.aspx
New England residents only please. If interested please read the pinned post at the top of the page to learn about adoption. Any questions please email me [email protected]
Meet Whiskey! This great 9 yr old guy was surrendered to us because he prefers a home without toddlers. Super great dog, gets along with other dogs, house. crate and remote collar trained. He would make a fine part time hunting companion as he does have some arthritis and it shows after he runs for a bit. Whiskey would do fine in a home with older kids and another older, calm dog. A large traditionally fenced or underground wired fence yard would work well for him. Whiskey knows lots of commands and is very nicely obedience trained. He's going to make someone a wonderful companion. Seniors are the best!
If you have adopted from us before or are approved to adopt or foster please email me. [email protected] for more information. If you've never worked with us before please complete the appropriate form (volunteer or adoption) found on our site. New England residents only please.
We are taking our annual holiday break as of today to give ourselves and our volunteers some time with their families, dogs and some down time. We'll be back after the first of the year. Applications and all non emergency matters will be responded to at that time. Have a happy and safe holiday!
Part of our intake when a new dog comes in is a temperament evaluation by our trainer. This was Duck today during his….we think he’s gonna need a little training but it literally made us lol.
Patch, the guy we literally patched up, is on bed rest for 8 weeks but he’s found his voice! He’s doing great, feeling great and is a tough boy to keep still but we’re doing it! He doesn’t like it but only 5 more weeks to go! Pt after that to build his muscles up. Pretty good for a guy we thought was going to lose his leg. ❤️❤️
Remember Rylee, our girl who was hit by a car and treated at Maine Vet? Her injuries were severe but just look ar her now! This is part of the work we do behind the scenes, quietly, to get our dogs healthy. As you can see she will need continuing pt to keep improving and gaining strength. This is the second session of PT since healing and she’ll probably need at least a couple more. Sessions are six weeks each. She’s more than met us half way and we’re so thankful we had the resources to care for her properly.
Rylee is a great example of where donations to our rescue go. Please donate today on Giving Tuesday so we may continue to help dogs in need. Donate via PayPal using PayPal.me/Gsprescuene or by mailing a check to GSP Rescue NE P.O. Box 5731 Wakefield, RI 02880. The dogs thank you and we do too!
Thank you.
