Whelp, the poss dbl het snow baby green iguanas are finally moved downstairs to the reptile room . Thanks to hubby we were able to move the small racks side by side to make enough room. Soon the baby iggies will be moved to a much larger arboreal cage similar to the adults.
But aside from the stinky pole holding up the house in front of it, I’m quite a bit happier here than the last place. Glad to finally have our own home and a much more beautiful room for our animals.
My rose breasted cockatoos to the left seem quite comfortable in their much larger corner cage 🙂
Here’s to making our animals lives better and therefore our own!

Critters of all kinds are the center of my life after my family. From the breeder quails we are raising to the special iguanas we have. We love them all. This baby bobwhite will help me raise other hatchling quail

Something I see even in news media quite a bit is referring to different species and colors as “breeds” and different breeds as different species etc.

The term breed only applies to domesticated animals that humans have changed over time to exhibit certain attributes consistently.

This is incorrectly applied like an article I saw today article stating that a new “breed” of crocodile has been found. This is incorrect, it would either be species or sub-species found.

Now if someone said a new breed of goat, sheep, dog, domestic cat, equine, cattle, etc was founded, then this term would be correctly applied.

The term breed does not apply to color mutations however certain colors can be “hallmarks” of a certain breed or species.

Purchased this gem this morning, can’t tell you how excited I am to start working on this project. Will be on the look out for another female for this guy in the future here as we already have hypo albino and granite genetics here so adding pied to the mix is a big deal for the future of this project.
