Dasha is such a smart girl! 🧠

We are still in need of a new foster for Dasha ASAP! She’s loosing her long term foster due to a work schedule change that requires them to be gone long hours. Dasha prefers to have humans around more often than not and can be left for a few hours at a time but a full 8 hour plus work day is too long for her to be by herself. Dasha is friendly with humans big and small and does well with other friendly dogs. She’s house trained!

We are looking for a home that:
- has a fenced in yard (ideally 6 foot privacy as she can JUMP!) or access to a low traffic dog park/fenced area
- has limited windows from which she can see wildlife/critters or willingness to put up temporary window film
- has critter-limited areas to walk Dasha - small animals get her very excited

Honeycomb is a certified snuggle bug ☺️

After her playtime she loves to cuddle up on the couch with her humans or furry friends. Honeycomb is a social gal who enjoys having company over and will fall asleep in anyone’s lap. She especially loves belly rubs! Oh, and she’s a fan of snacks too! At 12 weeks old, she’s mastered how to be an adorable puppy.

Little Pea 🫛 is oh-so precious!

This girl is described as “a REALLY great dog! Very trusting and well balanced - the perfect mix of fun and s***k, and cuddly and quiet in a small package.” A 5 year old gal weighing in at around 8lbs, while she’s small in stature thanks to her likely breed mix including chihuahua, her personality really shines through when she’s with her people. While she enjoys lap time very much, she has a playful side and is a wiggly little playmate with other dogs, especially around her size. Little Pea enjoys walks and is a perfect lady on the leash. Meet Dukesy Duke! 👁️

This one-eyed wonder boy is looking for his perfect family! Duke is about 2 years old, 27 lbs and we think a Jack Russell Terrier mix. Duke is a charming gentleman. He’s wonderful with other dogs and children, is house trained and does well in the car. His foster shares that he loves spending time at a local elementary school and cuddling with all the kids! He likes to “hunt” for rabbits, so a home with small animals might not be ideal…he is part Jack Russell after all. 🚨 FOSTER NEEDED! 🚨

Dasha is looking for a new foster home ASAP! Like this coming weekend! Her current, long term foster is starting a new schedule next week that will require humans to be gone for long hours and they will no longer be able to give Dasha what she needs.

A little about Dasha:
- She is great with humans of all sizes and ages!
- She is great with all other friendly dogs of all sizes/ages!
- She is house trained and content to be left home alone loose for several hours at at time
- She is VERY smart and rewarding to train/work with
- She gets over aroused by seeing small critters

Ideally we are looking for a home that:
➡️has a fenced in yard (ideally 6 foot privacy as she can JUMP!) or access to a low traffic dog park/fenced area
➡️has limited windows from which she can see wildlife/critters or willingness to put up temporary window film
➡️has critter-limited areas to walk Dasha (she is much more pleasant to walk on the gentle leader, but critters still get her too excited)

The great mystery of why Paxton was waiting weeks to find his forever home has been solved! And these three are feeling very Lucky 🍀 to have each other.

These two super loving humans popped into SOS retail a week ago to see if there were any adoptable dogs in that day to meet. They had lost their beloved Brady, a 17 year old Puggle, the week prior and just wanted to see who was available. Their home was not the same without a furry family member. Well, we didn’t have any adoptable dogs in the store that day but they did get to talk to Emma and learn all about Paxton, a Puggle himself. They went home and applied that night, and Paxton, now Lucky, went home on Thursday 🏡. He’s such a good boy, and they are so grateful and happy to have him bring his super friendly and fun personality into their lives. Happy life, little man!

A tail of a pup who didn’t get adopted today 😔

Pebbles and her three sisters from the Cereal litter, Chex, Honeycomb and Cocoa Puff all haven’t landed their forever families yet but not for a lack of trying. The cuteness was on full display! Plus they had a great time reuniting after a week apart in different fosters. The Cereal pups are wonderful, super sweet and outgoing 2.5 month old basset hound mixes. Meet Sara! 🐶

This gorgeous girl is about 2-3 years old, 44lbs and an English Bulldog mix. Sara embraces life with a smile 😃 and a tail wag, bringing joy to everyone she meets. She loves all people big and small, and is gentle and calm around them. She’s friendly with other dogs too! While she enjoys her couch potato 🥔 time, Sara is always happy to embark on a leisurely strolls and have bursts of play time. She’s leash trained, great in the car and a well-mannered young lady. SOS retail’s NutriSource Pet Foods rep came to the store yesterday to introduce some new products to staff (and Tugger 😉).

Did you know NutriSource provides SOSARL with monthly donations of their high-quality kibble to feed ALL of our dogs - those in the north as well as those in the south! Dasha here to remind you all that she is still on the hunt for her perfect forever home 🏠!

She’s got beauty, brains and is quite athletic! She’s a red head with a slender build weighing in around 40lbs. Dasha is super smart and LOVES to learn new things - tricks, agility, whatever you’ve got on tap for her to use her brain, she loves to do. Plus, she’s quite athletic and up for running, hikes or romping around with her doggy friends. She’d love a home with a fenced in yard to safely run around and play in, preferably 6 feet or higher because she’s got some major hops. Dasha prefers her humans be home more often than not and makes a wonderful sidekick. She’s house trained and sleeps well in her crate.

Mikayla is a beautiful 1.5 year old Bluetick Coonhound mix eagerly looking for her forever home (or a new foster home) ASAP. Playful yet gentle, Mikayla is the perfect blend of fun and tranquility. She’s a friendly gal who’s done well with other dogs, cats and children. She can be cautious around some dogs and may need a slow introduction. Chex is such a cuddle bug!

While she may be the smallest of the Cereal litter 🥣, Chex has a big heart and is super affectionate. She has the saddest, most soulful eyes that make it extra easy to fall in love with her. Chex is super playful with other dogs and just wants everyone to love her. This week, Chex learned how to go up and down stairs to the backyard at her foster home and will even sit for treats 😊. Space is still available in two upcoming training classes at SOS retail in Wakefield, RI hosted by Bad Dog Basics!

There are still spaces available in the upcoming Bad Dog Basics Essential Dog class!

1 SPOT LEFT - Sundays starting 3/16 at 11:00am and running 3/23, 3/30, 4/6 & 4/13

3 SPOTS LEFT - Fridays starting 3/28 at 6:00pm and running 4/4, 4/11, 4/18 & 4/25

This is a five (5) session class running for 5 weeks with an orientation and bonus videos.
This is NOT your average obedience class! In this class series, learn how to effectively communicate with your pup, build useable skills, and tackle common problems in a super fun environment. No previous training required, but participating dogs must be at least 4 months old and up to date on all core vaccinations. This class is limited to five (5) registrants.
