Updated available rooster pictures. We hatched a large number of roosters this year. These are all really nice roosters from colorful eggs lines. 2 Opal Legbars from shipped hatching eggs and multiple roosters hatched from hatching eggs from Melvin Heights Farm. Handled daily and around kids. Some calmer and more family-friendly than others. Giving them a chance to become flock roosters before they become food. Waldoboro, Maine.

Our chickens free range on our nearly 10 acres and eat quality feed purchased through Beneva Farm and Feed in Warren, ME. We collect eggs every day, twice a day, and candle them to check for any cracks or internal blemishes before putting them out in our cooler for sale. We do not wash our eggs. Unwashed eggs last longer, stay fresher, and have coating "bloom" to protect from bacteria. Eggs come out of the coop mostly, if not completely clean. We water glass some of our eggs for winter use for our family. Only clean, unwashed eggs can be preserved using the method of water glassing. The bloom needs to be intact.
