At our event today, a lady commented on how a dog being in a crate all of the time is not fair. She is correct.

That said, crate training is a beautiful tool. Some dogs use the crate as an escape when things get to be too much.

Some dogs go into the crate with indifference. "It's cool. I can sleep here tonight and go play with my friends when I wake mom up at the butt crack of dawn*.

Crates are a necessary tool that can be abused. Do not abuse it. Use it for the safety of your pups.

I have a handful of personal and unadoptable pups who are loose in my home. They are all comfortable in a crate. We have a very detailed evacuation plan in place. We board them from time to time. We have pet sitters.

Crate training is an asset.
