Our mission is to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of people and pets in the Walker community, and reduce the dangers and nuisances caused by irresponsible pet ownership. All those who leave our shelter have their age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming and flea-prevention treatments and have been spayed or neutered. We strive to educate the public in responsible pet ownership and find loving responsible homes for our unwanted and abused pets.

Microchips Work!! What a great ending!

MICROCHIPS WORK‼️‼️‼️

Cora went missing in May of 2022. She was brought into our facility today as a stray. Upon intake, we scanned the cat and she was chipped. We called the microchip company and got the owner information. Before we were even able to call the owner, the microchip company had already called them. They called the shelter to let us know they were on their way to pick her up. Cora was so happy to see her momma❤️❤️❤️

Former Shelter furbaby update!!

I felt like I should give you an update on Beaux Diddley (Rowdy)! He is the absolute sweetest dog I’ve ever owned. Anytime I’m in the bed he’s right there with me because he’s spoiled and knows I’m gunna scratch his head or rub his belly 😆

Winter says she’s not digging this cold weather! She spent most of the day greeting people and sleeping on the couch. When it was time to go back to her kennel, she decided the couch was better! Love this girl so much!❤️🐾❤️

Since so many of you liked our Lola and Puppies video last night, we thought you might like to see our kittens enjoying their morning play time! ❤️🐾❤️ Enjoy! ❤️🐾❤️

Sometimes at the end of a long day, I’ll find Mrs. Bonnie, one of our kennel techs, having a kitten palooza to unwind before going home for the day. Today I chose to sit with Lola and her six (four week old) puppies. Then the thought occurred that you guys might want to share in my mommy/puppy moment. So enjoy these sweet little faces❤️🐾❤️
