Actually took some time to play with my pony today. I've hardly done anything with Genesis the last year but you wouldn't have been able to tell. She remembered everything so well!

Everyone got tied and groomed tonight. I can't tell you the last time I tied up all my horses and groomed everyone together. It was wonderful! Best therapy ever!

Two got the right answer to my question! Dana and Kara!
The most common assumption we got at the trick or treat event was that Peanut was a donkey! Runner up was that he was a baby horse! (I said yeah he's a baby, an 18 year old baby).

I had no idea that there's a group of people that only think donkeys can be mini and not horses! I was so confused the first time someone asked if he was a donkey and then it happened at least 6 more times!

I just kept looking at his little 3 inch ears hardly visible under his thick forelock wondering how they could be compared to those of a donkey 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

It was all quite funny to me but I was really happy to get the opportunity to educate some. I even had one older girl say she had never been so close to anything horse related in her life and she couldn't believe she was getting to pet him! Made my heart so full to get to share these amazing creatures!

Update on Jr.

Jr. Had his first vet appointment with us last week.
He did amazing being lunged for his exam and didn't even flinch for his shot!
The vet did say that he's got some long term issues that will keep him from being much of a riding horse. Luckily though they're not effecting his quality of life negatively at this point. He's middle aged and has plenty of good years to enjoy life!
Unfortunately though my long term goals really center around having ridable horses so I'm starting to look to re-home Jr. 😔
I'm not looking to make money on him, just really hope I can find him a good home, where he can be loved on and enjoyed and not expected to work much.

We had so much fun at the trunk or treat event today. It's been awhile since I shared my passion with people beyond social media and it felt amazing! Peanut did amazing and greeted somewhere around 300 people today! I couldn't have asked him to do any better then he did. He was a gem! It was beautiful weather to boot! Hopefully we get some picture tags because I know there were some really cute pictures taken with this beautiful unicorn today!

Okay new news!

I rehomed Pearl sometime ago. I was incredibly sad to say goodbye to her but I wasn't giving her the time that a young mule needs. In addition to that she seemed to only be connecting to me and I didn't feel right getting her fully bonded to me and then having to maybe rehome her down the road, so I went ahead and made the decision to do it now. She went to a great home though. Her training has continued and is now even being rode.

I regretted the decision at first but recent circumstances have made me realize that it was meant to be.

This week we welcomed Jr. to the farm. Jr is a big paint horse that's probably in his early teens. Jr. is from the farm that my horse Chess came from. In people terms he's actually his younger uncle. He's also the full brother to my best friend's family's horse.

Junior came to me in tragic circumstances. His owners have passed away and he needed a new home. This couple is dear to my heart. They were my connection to my horse Chess and without them there would be no Chess and I. I really don't know what kind of horse woman I would be today without them.

Despite being terribly sad about the loss I'm excited to be able to provide a good home and hopeful future for Jr in honor of this couple.

At this time I'm unsure what goals I have for Jr. There will be a significant amount of care and training needed in order to even be able to see what he is capable of. In my fairy tale world I would get to ride him alongside his full brother someday, but for now we'll work on haltering and taking care of some obvious maintenance.

Please join me in welcoming Jr. to the farm. Here goes another adventure!
