For The Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption is a 501(c)3 non profit, no-kill cat rescue. We are run by volunteers and donations only.

For the Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, donation based organization dedicated to saving lives and finding homes for homeless cats and kittens, including strays and those relinquished by their owners. Additionally, we educate the public on a variety of cat-related topics. We are foster-based, meaning all our rescued cats are housed in volunteer foster homes, where they are lov

ed and cared for. We do not have a brick and mortar shelter, however, we do show our cats through space at our partner organization, PetSmart Commerce Township, located at 385 Haggerty Road, near 14 Mile Road.

***UPDATE ON BUGSY***
Bugsy had his eye removal surgery today and is doing very well!!!
We also received some wonderful news today! One of our Supporters saw Bugsy’s Facebook post and contacted us today! Chris said he would like to pay the remaining balance that we owe on Bugsy’s Vet bill!!! 👏 That was such a wonderful surprise!

SAVE THE DATE- FUNDRAISER SEPTEMBER 8!!
We are doing 2 Fundraisers on Sunday, September 8 from 11-2. It will be held in the Petsmart parking lot at 385 Haggerty.
One is a Bottle Drive and the other is a Tennis Shoe Drive. GotSneakers is a Tennis Shoe recycling company that will pay us for good condition tennis shoes. Most people throw their old tennis shoes away, why not recycle them and help out our rescue? It’s a win, win!!!
GotSneakers provides the bags and will pay for shipping.
We will be collecting both bottles, cans as well as old tennis shoes. (They will not accept any other shoe style)

NO MORE KITTENS
We were contacted about these 2 Mama kitties that were living in a feral colony in Inkster. They both had litters but sadly all the babies died. 💔
We had both Mama’s fixed today and they will never have to go through that heartbreak again!
Better days ahead for these 2 Mama’s.

We have a new foster home for Charlie II thankfully, but we need to find this angel a FOREVER home!! He is the sweetest, most lovable boy, who we all know was in a cage for a long time, but is still completely loving and sweet. He needs to be an only kitty as the other kitties bullied him. He deserves the best life and home ever. 😻

JUST RESCUED
We were contacted about these 2 little boys who were living with a feral colony. A kind lady rescued them and has been holding onto them, until we had an open foster.
They are now “on board” with us and we promise to find them their new forever home.

JUST RESCUED ❤️
We were contacted about this poor baby who was living with a feral colony in Inkster. We cannot imagine the pain that this poor boy was in. 😔 Bugsy was so flea infested, the bath water turned red from all the flea dirt and bites.
Sadly, he will need to have his right eye removed. Bugsy’s surgery is scheduled for August 29 and it estimated to be $911.

FOSTER NEEDED AGAIN. 😿.

Poor guy.. and it’s not Charlie’s fault.
FOSTER NEEDED AGAIN. 😿. The foster who stepped up can only keep him until Sunday, which we didn’t know. If anyone can foster him until he gets adopted that would be amazing. He deserves the best. Moving cats, as u may know, is one of the most stressful things they can go through. So we’re really looking for someone who will foster him until he gets adopted.

He probably should be an only pet. He’s so sweet and deserving.

JUST RESCUED
We were contacted about these 2 little kittens that needed rescue asap! We were able to take them in but sadly one of the kittens has a bad eye and will need to have it removed.
They are safe with us now and we promise better days ahead for these sweet babies!

This is my blind kit Ellbee💕she came to the rescue at about 4-5 weeks old with massive infection in both eye. We tried for several weeks to heal them through medication, but the infection had done too much damage, so both eyes had to be removed. But as you can see, she is very happy just being herself.💕 She is just over a year old now and has no problem navigating anywhere!

We are in desperate need of Foster homes for these two adorable cats. They do not have to be together. We are trying to save them from being euthanized tomorrow!!!
The one in cage Fergus, he is fromt paw declawed doesn’t like kids.
The second is Daisy. 10 yrs old. Owner moving to senior living tomorrow in the family will put it down. 😡

Desperate need for FOSTER’s for these two cats. (Not together).
Saving both from being euthanized. Please, can anyone help?

The first one is Fergus front paw declawed, doesn’t seem to like kids.
The second is Daisy, 10 yrs old owner moving in assisted living tomorrow , family will euthanize. Unbelievable

JUST RESCUED ❤️
We were contacted by a Vets office about this handsome boy we named SirGalahad. He was abandoned by his owner when she moved and left him behind. Luckily, a kind neighbor took over feeding and caring for him. He showed up with a severely injured front paw. His Caretaker took him to the Vet and then they contacted us.
SirGalahad has a slight fracture and his wound was very infected. His wound was cleaned and he was started on antibiotics. He is such a sweet boy, much too sweet to be living on the streets. He is getting lots of TLC by his foster Mom Karen and we are so glad he is safe!

JUST RESCUED 💗
We were contacted about this little girl who was found underneath a persons deck. She was found all by herself, the Mom didn’t come back for her. She is only 1.5 pounds, so about 5 weeks old. She is quickly getting used to people and being held, she is purring already! 👏
She is in good hands now and we are so glad she is safe with us!

We answered a Facebook request for help for this tiny little peanut we named MacCready! He was found all alone and someone trapped him but he needed a safe place to go!
We are so glad MacCready is safe with us, his foster family loves him and said he is doing great!

JUST RESCUED ❤️
We were contacted about this little guy who was seen next to a dumpster at a Bowling Alley. This poor baby was eating pizza crust in the rain. One of our foster’s, Louis borrowed a trap and was able to trap him.
Louis bathed him and Ebonite actually liked it! He named him Ebonite, which is a bowling ball brand. We think that is a perfect name!
Ebonite is safe with us now and is SO thankful to be rescued!

This is a video of Sally and Tiny after they came home from their surgeries! 😭 We are told they are not Biological Sisters but Sally (orange one) has always looked out for Tiny! They share such an incredible bond and when they are ready for adoption, they will be adopted together! PLEASE SHARE THE LOVE! ❤️

LOUIE UPDATE:

We rescued Louie from Detroit on Super Bowl Sunday. He had eye surgery on Tuesday along with his neuter and shots. This poor baby had a film that covered his right eye and his eye was constantly draining. The Vet was able to take the film off and found a clump of fur in his eye!!!!! We cannot imagine how awful that would feel and we don’t know how long he suffered before we got him. 😔 Before his surgery Louie was scared and not seeking attention. The minute his foster Mom brought him home he has been purring and rolling over for pets! He is like a whole new cat! His foster Mom has never seen a kitten SO thankful to be feeling better, he just doesn’t stop purring. It’s amazing to see the difference in him! We are so happy we could help this little guy!

***DONATIONS NEEDED*** Little Henna is at Wilson’s Veterinary Hospital right now with a possible Bowel Obstruction. 😔 Every time she eats she screams afterwards. (You can hear Mama growl in the video, she knows her kitten is in pain.) Henna has been admitted to Wilsons and her estimated bill is between $1,700-$3,200. Our Rescue has been hit hard lately with huge Vet bills and we could really use some help. ***DONATIONS NEEDED*** Little Medusa was rushed to the Vet yesterday in respiratory distress. She had been fixed on Wednesday with no issues and then yesterday she was having difficulty breathing. Her respiratory rate is high so they put her on oxygen and are ruling out possible pneumonia. It was discovered that Medusa has something wrong with her heart. They are giving her IV Antibiotics and Lasix to decrease the fluid load on her heart and help her breath better. Her first Vet visit to Blue Pearl was $571.19 and then she was transferred to Wilson’s Veterinary Hospital. She is there now and she will need a Cardiac work up.
