Roscoe’s neuter appt is scheduled for early next week and can’t come soon enough 😂!! Until then he’s getting some supervised outdoor time thanks to the new fence. He’s very curious about the other pigs…

Friends… meet Roscoe. He was found wandering all alone in a neighborhood last week. This was a suburban, deed restricted area where he clearly shouldn’t have been. Thankfully a kind family lured him into their backyard with food and kept him safe until we could pick him up today. They attempted to post for the owner but of course no one stepped up. 😢

We think Roscoe may be the perfect companion for Hamilton… who came to live here late last year. In order to make that happen though we need your help. Roscoe needs to be neutered and vaccinated asap before he can move out of this quarantine stall. Donations for this vet care are urgently needed and every single dollar helps. The new fence is done and it looks fantastic! Better yet… the safe and secure special needs piggy exercise area I imagined is a reality! Super special thank you to Edwin and his crew from Superior Ranch Works, LLC for the fantastic job! From materials delivery to job site cleanup these guys are professional and TOP NOTCH!! I can’t wait to see how the piggies like it ❤️🐷❤️

Update!!! You all know we have been raising money for about a year to fund our new fencing and piggy exercise area. We are happy to announce we finally reached our goal and construction has begun!! 🎉

We truly thank all of you for donating to our Spring and Fall fundraisers last year and answering our random requests for funds. Every dollar has made this possible and will tremendously help all of our special needs and overweight piggies by providing a safe space for them to get the exercise they need. Thank you all!! ❤️🐷❤️

Lots of you have been keeping up with tiny Tink as we navigate her medical challenges over the last few weeks. I’m happy to say she is doing well. We have to keep a close eye on her though and this presents a good opportunity for a piggy PSA…

Many of Tink’s issues are because she is so much smaller than she should be at a year old. Her “runt” status is due to her unhealthy mother and quite possibly some inbreeding before her mother was rescued just prior to Tink’s birth. This is likely why none of her siblings survived. Her lungs and digestive system are smaller than they should be… leaving her susceptible to recurring respiratory and digestive issues that she will likely always have to deal with. We are committed to do everything we can to make sure Tink receives whatever care she needs and is able to live her best life.

Sadly many dishonest breeders out there starve their breeding pigs and piglets in an effort to stunt their growth and bill them as “micro” pigs. They even tell the unsuspecting owners to withhold the proper amount of food to keep their pigs small. These malnourished tiny pigs are destined for a lifetime of health problems like Tink and in many cases do not live full lives. There is NO SUCH THING as a healthy 30lb adult pig!!

Please do your research before getting a pig and talk to rescues like us to get the real story. Pigs are a commitment not to be taken lightly. ❤️🐷❤️

Our little girl is home and big brother is very happy about that!!! He kept looking everywhere for her while she was at the hospital. He’s not the only one happy to have her home… she seems to be improving and we will keep a close eye on her.
