FPAS Mission:

Our mission is to provide for the safety and well being of rescued pigs and other farm animals. As a sanctuary, our goal is not future adoption. Instead, we strive to provide these animals with a forever home to live out their lives happily in an environment that is as natural and free from stress as possible while actively promoting public education and advocacy. Our Story:

Flying Pigs Animal Sanctuary is a registered 501c3 non profit corporation formed in November 2020 and located in Waller TX. We are dedicated to brightening the futures of rescued pigs and other animals that need a second chance. Co-founder Kim LaFon has been rescuing animals and caring for them on her small farm for almost two decades. She’s provided a forever home for dogs, cats, horses, pigs, sheep, reptiles, rabbits, birds, and any other critters that wandered in. The rewards far outweighed the financial burdens and physical challenges. However we all know times are changing and it is increasingly more difficult to continue this dream on her own. Costs of day to day operations are rising and needed repairs are very expensive. In order to continue to serve the animals and potentially even grow the operations she decided to incorporate and seek the public’s help to make this dream a permanent reality. Kim, along with co-founding board members Stephen Slack and Sandra Vines, have some big plans for FPAS including much needed repairs and even an expansion to allow for rescuing more pigs. We’re planning some fun fundraising campaigns for the new year and plenty of social media presence. We would like to invite all of you to follow along on this journey with us and share, support, and donate if you can. We appreciate all of your help to change their future... one life at a time.

Tinkerbell received a clean bill of health from Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and has now officially moved into the house. She’s checking out the new surroundings and getting used to things. Right now she’s in a separate room and hasn’t met Clarence yet but she will soon.

Everyone meet Tinkerbell!! Tink was born at Mustard Seed Farm Animal Sanctuary after they took on the enormous challenge of three pregnant sows that needed rescue several months ago. These mamas were not in great shape and Tink and her sister were the only survivors of their litter. It was obvious after a few months that these two were not growing - the other piglets born around the same time were twice their size. They ate well and acted normal but everyone was worried… especially after Tink’s sister passed away unexpectedly last week.

We have been thinking about getting Clarence a companion before he gets much older and we knew we’d hear about a special pig that needed us. When we met Tink we knew she was that pig. So we picked her up and took her directly Texas A&M for a full work up to make sure nothing is physiologically wrong and stunting her growth. She weighed in at 12lbs at 7 months old - less than half of what Clarence weighed at that age. Good news is she checked out well and she’s bright and sweet and eating like a champ! She’s likely just going to be on the smaller side. Pending the results of a couple more tests we will be able to release her from our stall quarantine and introduce Clarence to his new girlfriend. Let’s hope he likes her!!! ❤️🐷❤️

It’s been a very busy day for us… earlier today we were able to provide transport to get this lovely girl named Dixie to her new home with our friends at Mustard Seed Farm Animal Sanctuary . While there we met a tiny little girl that may be the perfect companion for Clarence. We’ll keep you posted on that. 😉

We are also planning the spaces needed for not just one but three new residents that will join us before the end of the year. That will put us at MAX capacity for the resources we have. They will have some medical needs too so if you’d like to help we could really use it. You can donate here or on our website… or you can find us on Chewy.com and send us pig food!!! Every bit of support makes a difference and we truly appreciate it!! ❤️🐷❤️

The long hot days of Summer are behind us and Fall is in the air. Cooler weather means it's time for our annual hay and straw fundraiser. Help us keep piggy houses warm and cozy with plenty of soft bedding to burrow in and hay to keep tummies full.

Along with hay and straw this year we have three new intakes arriving in November - all with special needs. We will need materials to build comfy piggy houses and enlarge pens for them as we help them work through the trauma that goes along with re-homing. These pigs won't understand why they have to move and it is our number one priority to make their landing as soft as possible. We can't do it without your help so please consider a donation this Fall.

Donations can be made here or via our website at www.flyingpigsanimalsanctuary.com ❤️🐷❤️

Thank you to the young ladies from TAMU PAWS that gave up their Saturday morning to help paint pig houses! We had a great group that came all the way from Texas A&M University to help us out. They did a great job and we can’t wait to have them back again. ❤️🐷❤️

Trust is not free… it has to be earned. Just like us… when pigs are mistreated it takes time and patience and love for them to trust again. Lucky and Dusty both came from situations that caused them to be frightened of both people and other pigs. It’s been a long road but not only do they finally trust us… they have forged a bond of friendship with each other that warms my heart. This is why we do it… ❤️🐷❤️

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters and friends for your continued donations, likes, comments, and shares. Meta has some quirks so I can’t always tell when someone donates and thank them personally but please know that we truly appreciate every single donation no matter the amount. We are a small sanctuary with low overhead - no one is paid a salary here - so you can be sure that every dollar you donate goes directly to support Tucker, Delilah, and all their friends.
