Spent the day getting ready for the crazy winter storm on the way in a couple of days. We are not equipped for weather like that in southeast Texas!!! A HUGE thank you to Miss Diamond and Minnie Pearl’s mom for visiting yesterday and bringing us a whole trailer full of much needed hay and straw. You can see we are putting it to good use!! ❤️🐷❤️🥶

My dear Arnold,

It’s been a year since you left and I still remember it like it was yesterday. I remember every second of the terrible phone call from your doctor with the words I never expected to hear. I remember exactly how I felt when she told me you’d gone into respiratory arrest and they were unable to revive you. I remember every emotion and I relive those moments constantly. I remember the days afterwards when I couldn’t eat, sleep, work, or really function at all. I remember being so grateful for all the well wishes even though I couldn’t respond and being so humbled when I truly realized all the lives you had touched. It was overwhelming…

Now a year later I still miss you every day. Clarence has grown up and now has a new little sister to hang out with. You’d be so mad at them because they have rooted up all the grass you loved in your yard. They’re just being piglets!! You’ve had more friends join you over the Rainbow Bridge so I know you have plenty of company up there. More sweet piggies that needed a soft landing have found their way to us to continue the legacy you started. I know you’re watching over all of us.

Keep flying high my sweet boy. May you have all the treats and cupcakes you could ever want. You are never far from my thoughts and forever in my heart. Love always, Mom. 💙

Please join me in welcoming Hamilton to the FPAS family! Hammy has a family that loves him dearly but when they had to move he’s had trouble adjusting to his new living arrangements. We’ve been talking with the family for a few months but it was apparent that Hamilton just needed more space to be a pig. He seems very happy with his new outdoor pen and his new friends that he is meeting through the fence for now.

We appreciate all the help from Hamiltons’s family… from assisting with building his pen and other projects around here to helping with loading and unloading and getting him settled in. They plan to visit him often and bring lots of his favorite fruits and veggies… I know he’ll love that!! ❤️🐷❤️

Y’all please say hello to Miss Diamond and Minnie Pearl… the newest FPAS residents. These two sisters have a loving human mom but due to circumstances beyond her control she is no longer able to care for them. She’s been desperately looking for a safe home for them but they have some special needs which make rehoming nearly impossible. We offered to give these ladies a soft place to land where they could stay together. We will give them some time to settle in then begin a weight loss and exercise program to help them gain lost mobility and improve their overall health. Their pen conveniently opens directly to our soon (hopefully) to be completed special needs exercise pen and we look forward to Diamond and Pearl making use of it. ❤️🐷❤️

Please please research before you gift a pig this Christmas.

Mini pigs do not make great gifts. They are absolutely cute. They can be cuddly. They can be quite a surprise. They are also a huge commitment. Lots of work! Very loud, high maintenance pets. Research, research, research!

I am so happy these two are getting along so well!! You just never know how pig intros will go but the fact that they are both so young definitely helps. Tink is gaining weight and is up to 17lbs now. She looks better and her skin issues are clearing up. Once she reaches 20lbs we will start planning for her spay. Earlier is better for that too but I’m sure it’ll be a couple of more months before she’s cleared for the procedure.
