We are in desperate need of Foster's.

These pups are at the pound. And have been there for a few weeks now. As we've had no space to take them in.
The Husky is a boy.
Lab Mix pup is a girl.

We provide everything for foster homes for our pups. Once they are in a foster home. We will schedule to get them fixed.

🙌PLEASE make sure to secure your pets to keep them safe. Make sure their Microchips are updated with your current contact information.

😮‍💨This time every year we see in influx of lost and found pets due to fire works, Folks shooting guns(which isn't the smartest idea) and loud music.

🥁ALSO, Instead of going out and purchasing all those noise making fire works. Go out and buy your local animal shelter pets a bag of food, treats, toys or bedding with the money you would spend on fireworks. Those pups would appreciate it more than you know.

These Sweet Girls are ASPEN & LIBBY.

Aspen and Libby have been in a foster home since August 19, 2024.

They need a home they can call their own.
At just 8 months old. These girls are fully vetted, And do well with other pups. Kennel and potty training has gone very well for them.

🙏We are in Desperate Need of Volunteers.

💔We just can not continue saving pups without more Volunteers.💔

🚫Due to Lack of Space and Lack of Volunteers. INTAKE IS CLOSED for an unforeseen amount of time.🚫

🙌Everyone wants us to help every abandoned pup they see, but we can't seem to get anyone to step up to help us care for them.

❤️‍🔥If you love helping animals, we'd love to have you.
Shifts are easy if you don't mind cleaning up some poo or p*e. We do provide the cleaning supplies. Even gloves.

Saturday and Sunday morning shifts are 8am to 11am.
Afternoon shifts Monday to Sunday during the summer months are typically 5pm to 8pm. Hours do vary depending if there are any messes.
Monday thru Friday morning hours are typically 7:30am to 10am.

As much as we love having the littles come help, at this time we are needing Responsible adult volunteers.
Folks that don't mind learning our routine then eventually taking shifts alone.

This pup was picked up by Waller PD 12/13/24, off Orange St near FM 362 in Waller and taken to the pound.

She has a collar with a leash attached.
Unfortunately she is so terrified that no one is able to touch her to be able to get the leash off, or scan her for a chip.

🙏We have been Absolutely Blessed by the Cates Family.
David and Sharon who have been Foster's for us for about 2yrs now. So far they have fostered a total of 25 pups. AMAZING!!

💞THANK YOU💞. For all your dedication.

They have opened their home and heart more often than not for our furbabies. From all the love they give each pup, taking them to vet visits, events and anything needed. They get it done!
Below are pictures of the babies they've fostered over the last few years.

"Fostering can be hard, especially when you bond with the pups. So seeing them go is heartbreaking, but the best reward. Knowing you loved each Pup the way they should have been loved from the start of their life. And they will continue to see that love with their new furever homes."

Not just Foster's, When we lost our grounds keeper, Sharon and David stepped in and have been volunteering by mowing and edging at the shelter.
They always send special gifts and treats to the shelter Pups too!

🙏🙏HELP🙏🙏

😪We need help. We have 4 sweet pups someone apparently Dumped near the sewer plant a few days ago. One of the girls is super skinny and has some skin issues. She looks to be the runt of the 4. We did test her, she's Parvo, Giardia and Coccidia negative at this time.
They have all been started on wormer. We believe they may be about 5 to 6 months old. They are on the smaller size. Apx. 15/20lbs currently.
3 females and 1 male.

We have NO available space at the shelter to take them in.

We always get asked about kids volunteering. 🌟While we encourage young ones to get involved, and it's great for the Pups. They all love it when the littles play with them. 🐩

💥FOUND💥

This girl was found this morning at Love's Truck Stop in Waller.
Waller PD picked her up and brought her to us.
She's very sweet and scared of course. And sickly. We took her in due to her health as well as the cold weather and rain moving in, the pound is no place for her to be.

She needs to been seen by the vet, as she's pretty skinny and has a open wound.
If you'd be willing to help us, with vetting costs. All donations are a tax right off.

Shelter Overview

Waller Animal Shelter & Rescue is ran strictly by Volunteers and is 100% Donation Based.

The Shelter is Currently being overseen by the Director, LaFonda Shaffer. Assistant Director, Erin Chelf and their team of amazing volunteers.

The shelter is the first and only no-kill shelter in Waller County. Currently we have been saving animals that have hit their 72hr stray hold before they hit their euthanasia time with the City of Waller Pound. Once the dogs hold is up, We then get them from the pound, vaccinate her/him and place the pup up for adoption. They are Spayed/Neuter at a discount after adoption.

The shelter does accept donations and are grateful to those that would like to Volunteer. If you are interested in either, please send us a message and we will get you to the correct link.
