OPEN Fri-Sat-Sun, June 14, 15, & 16, 2024 for U-Pick Freestone Peaches, Thornless Blackberries, Veggies and flowers! 7:30 am-1:00pm. PEACHES MAY ONLY BE PICKED FROM TREES WITH PINK FLAGGING TAPE (see photos). Trees without flagging tape have unripe fruit, so please don't touch the unripe fruit as that causes disease to occur where it was touched. The farmers have worked incredibly hard to bring this peach-picking experience to you, and your respect for the trees will help ensure the continuation of this activity. These trees are tediously pruned as living sculptures in order to facilitate their production, so thank you for not allowing children to eat or abuse the fruit, shake or climb the trees, or hang from or pull down the branches. Some blackberries are still ripe for picking, so look high, low and under the leaves. Peaches and Blackberries are the ONLY fruit available for U-Pick at this time. Figs and other fruits not ready yet! U-Pick vegs include tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, squash and more. FOR SALE IN MARKET: Pre-picked peaches, some veggies, and homemade preserves. Pickers must check in before 12:30pm and weigh/pay by our 1:00pm sharp closing time. Prices: Entry $3, U-Pick Fruit $7/lb., U-Pick Veg $3/lb., Zinnias $3/cup, Sunflowers $1/stem. Picking Box $3 or bring your own and put a plastic bag inside for removal when weighing. PLEASE BRING CLIPPERS FOR CUTTING FLOWERS AND EGGPLANT. This farm is our livelihood, and EVERY OUNCE COUNTS, so please pick, weigh and pay BEFORE EATING PRODUCE. Always visit www.nealsberryfarm.com before your drive out to be sure we are not picked out or rained out.

Second week of PEAK BLACKBERRY SEASON this weekend Fri-Sat-Sun, June 7-8-9, 2024, 7:30am-1:00pm. We will have U-Pick thornless blackberries for a few more weeks, but production will slow starting next week and the picking won’t be as fast and easy as it is now. So this weekend will be your last chance for PEAK berry season, when blackberries are most abundant! This weekend we will also have Pre-Picked home-grown freestone PEACHES for sale, along with U-Pick veggies: various squash, green onions, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, a few sunflowers, and first of the season U-Pick ZINNIAS. Green tomatoes may only be picked between the two pick flags tied to the tomato fence (see photo), where you find delicious low-acid BHN-871 tomatoes that turn yellow when ripe, but make the perfect fried green tomato due to their firmness and lack of gel around the seeds. Ripening red tomatoes and cherry tomatoes may be picked anywhere on the tomato fences. PLEASE BRING SHEARS for cutting zinnias, sunflowers and eggplant, and as always, you may bring your own fruit/veg picking container or purchase ours. Sorry, no U-Pick peaches or any other fruit besides blackberries at this time. Admission $3.00, most U-Pick vegs $3.00/lb., sunflowers $1/stem, zinnias $3.00/Solo cup, picking box $3.00. Pickers must check in before 12:30 pm and weigh/pay by 1:00pm closing time. If weather forces a closure, we will post news here on FB or www.nealsberryfarm.com homepage as soon as we know, so always check those sites before you come out to be sure we are open.

Next day open is Sat. 9/16/23 8am-12:00noon for U-Pick muscadines. (Maybe a few U-pick figs, too) Our muscadine grapes are way different from the local wild muscadines. Wilson Bros Gardens says, “Fry Scuppernong is the standard in muscadines and one of if not the best for fresh eating… large, super sweet grapes of 21% sugar content with excellent quality and taste, and the skin is edible.” Ison’s Nursery, developer of Supreme Black muscadine, says their grape “is one of the very best and biggest muscadines. .. long shelf life, edible skin … 22% sugar.“ Both are highly prized for wine, jelly and fresh eating!
PICK INDIVIDUAL GRAPES, NOT CLUSTERS. For kids’ safety, please do not allow them to hang or pull on the single wire that holds all the grapes. Pickers must check in at market at least 30 minutes before closing time. CASH/MC/VISA/AMEX. No pets/No checks please. Sorry, no picnic areas. Restroom is available. Admission $3.00. Picking boxes $2.00, U-Pick grapes $6.00/lb. For sale: Blackberry plants $20 and Blackberry preserves from our fruit.
