🚨 EXTREME WEATHER ALERT!🚨
A polar vortex is on the move and could impact much of the Houston area. Stay prepared!
Follow these tips to keep all animals safe during these extreme temps.

🐾 KEEP PETS INDOORS
❄️ Pets should never be left outside alone in freezing weather.

🏡 DESIGNATE A SAFE SPACE INSIDE
🛏️ Use potty pads for pets who can't go outside in harsh conditions.

☔ KEEP THEM DRY
🐕‍🦺 Dry paws & fur after walks in rain or snow to prevent chills.

🧣 USE SWEATERS
🐶 Short-haired dogs will love the extra warmth—time to get cozy!

💛 DON'T FORGET THE STRAYS
🌾 Leave hay or straw outside to create a shelter for stray furry friends.

🚗 BEWARE OF CAR HAZARDS
🛑 Never leave pets unattended in cars, clean up dangerous anti-freeze spills, & tap the hood of cars before starting to keep stray cats and wildlife safe.

💧 HELP WILDLIFE
During freezes, wildlife struggle to find water. Set out a shallow dish of warm water with rocks for them to drink safely.

🔥 SKIP THE FIRE PITS
Avoid fire pits or bonfires—to prevent wildfires and injuries to wildlife.

🦆 FROZEN WILDLIFE?
Don’t pull them off the ground—it can hurt them.
Pour warm (not hot) water around them to free them.
Do not offer food or water—just place them in a secure container with a dry cloth and call 713-468-8972 for assistance.

Henriette Ronner-Knip painted domestic animals, and after 1879 she specialized to cats 1870. She knew unerringly texture of the fur, eyes and colour display, and she found the sometimes quiet, sometimes playful and inquisitive nature of cats. Her work was especially popular with the rising bourgeoisie in the 19th century. She portrays her animals playing, sleeping and creeping up and over the costly furniture and luxurious fabrics that was so popular with wealthy citizens. Both in the Netherlands and Belgium, she was knighted for her work.
