CRAZY how I slowly started off then made the biggest and best decision of my life!! 2015 was a magical start to a whole new life of happiness!

2012 is where it began slowly sitting for friends while focusing on my nursing career….. Dec 2015 I stopped being a taxi cab driver (daughter had license now) and BAM, put myself out there more then went balls to the wall lol.

Did nursing and business for a couple yrs together then left nursing completely NEVER looking back!!

BEST decision I could ever have made!! 💜🐾

The absolute “BEST JOB NOT JOB EVER” as I have posted and always mentioned since I started!!

From a local gardener:
This tick has been on display for us to show people for a while. After months in a sealed container without any additional feeding, she laid eggs. This demonstrates how long a tick can remain dormant and how many eggs one female can lay. Remember, ticks become active again in the fall, so continue with preventive measures.
If you encounter a small pile of jelly-like balls in your garden, act immediately! These are tick eggs and they're set to hatch soon.
Either set them on fire or destroy them by soaking in isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to wear gloves if you handle the nest, as it contains hundreds of tick eggs that will hatch in a few weeks. I believe it's important to share this post because tick bites can be dangerous.
Stay safe and informed to protect yourself and your garden from these tiny but dangerous creatures!

We’ve seen some alarming content recently about dogs being left outside in this extreme cold. We want to take this opportunity to remind folks that Connecticut law prohibits the tethering of dogs outside during extreme weather. Per Connecticut General Statute 22-350a, dogs cannot be tethered outside during extreme weather for a duration longer than 15 minutes.

Whether tethered or not, leaving any pet outdoors for longer than 15 minutes when it’s this bitter cold out there is risky business. Our pets are just as susceptible to frostbite, especially on their nose and paws, and hypothermia as we are. Depending on size, body condition, general health, and coat thickness, extreme cold can potentially kill a pet in one to two hours or less.

If you see a dog tethered, or a pet outside that appears to be in distress, please ask your local ACO or police department to take immediate action! At the very least, a welfare check can ensure that the animal is not in any danger.

You might also consider some added safety when it comes to your walks, and dress your pet accordingly! If you’ve got a small breed, a dog without much body fat, a dog with no undercoat, an elderly, or a convalescing dog, bundle them up in a warm winter jacket. You might also consider booties if you’ll be walking where salt and sand have been applied. At the very least, rinse your pup’s paws when you get home. Let your pet continue to enjoy their routines and exercise, but keep them safe and warm out there! ❄️🐶

Our local area is preparing for some extremely frigid temperatures. The Governor has activated CT's severe cold weather protocol beginning at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 and ending at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24. Please bring your pets inside, they are susceptible to hypothermia and frost bite, just like we are. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them.

Public Act 22-59 Tethering and Adequate Shelter law states: when either a weather advisory or warning is issued by the National Weather Service, or outdoor environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow or hail, pose an adverse risk to the health or safety of a dog based on such dog’s breed, size, age, thickness of coat or physical condition, no person shall (1) tether such dog outdoors to a stationary object or mobile device, including, but not limited to, a trolley or pulley, unless such tethering is for a duration of not more than 15 minutes, or (2) fail to provide such dog adequate shelter for a duration of more than fifteen minutes, unless such person is in the presence of such dog and outdoors during such advisory or warning or exposed to such outdoor environmental conditions.

If you see something, say something. Call your local Animal Control Officer and local authorities and provide the with as much detail as possible.
