Ashley got her school pictures taken and couldn't decide which one she liked best, so here's both. This beautiful photogenic girl is a 5-month-old kitten with long hair. She's a nontraditional calico with a few patches of ginger mixed in with brown tabby and that striking white blaze on her face. Rerun is a gorgeous 5-6 month old puppy with a great smile. He's currently 34 pounds and we think he may be a Border Collie mix. He'll probably be around 55 pounds full grown. He's very friendly, enjoys playing with other puppies, and has nice manners. He wants to keep a clean kennel. Rerun will be neutered soon and will be looking for a family that would adore him. You'd have to use the old nursery rhyme "Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe" to pick which puppy is the cutest. These pups love playing ball, running in the tunnel, and digging in the 'sand' box. They are all spayed and neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and would make great family members. Moe is the only male. They are mixed breed puppies so WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) and will probably be medium sized adults. Apply at FriendsofStokesShelter.com

We love and appreciate our volunteers! We had a volunteer appreciation lunch today. It was a GREAT turnout and some wonderful fellowship. The pizza from River Rock Cafe was amazing and the homemade goodies definitely hit the spot! We have around 30 active volunteers and they average 750 hours a month!! Then they'll walk 500 more to be the dogs that walk 1000 miles to fall down at your door. The girls are doing great. Bella has lost 6 pounds since coming to FOSS and Lexi has lost 9 pounds! Meggie took a little trip up to Moratock Park in Danbury earler this week. She was excited over the beach and the sand and really wanted to swim! Later she popped in at the Arts Place for a pup cup to round off the day. She does love a lunch counter and put in her own order. We're looking for someone who sees this girl for how special she is. She plays hard, but crashes harder, and loves hardest of all. She will be a heart dog to the right person. #FACESofFOSS

Our sweet, beautiful Meggie is a lovebug as well as an athlete. She gives the best kisses and loves to roll over for a bellyrub. She seems to enjoy playing with male dogs, but it could just be the personalities of our FOSS pups. A meet and greet would sort it all out. The Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond saw our best boy Leroy had been with us a while and put out feelers within their group. It only took hours to have a foster step up for him, but he needed transport. Their volunteers with a plane offered to give Leroy a ride this beautiful morning. He set off from Meadowbrook Field in Walnut Cove and he's now settled in his foster home with two friends. As his pilot said, "It's a beautiful day for a freedom ride." Thank you Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond and all your volunteers. Happy Tails Leroy! We love you!
