It's National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week! Come visit and adopt a deserving pet. Meggie is a beautiful black mixed breed girl with the cutest nubby tail who wiggles with affection almost continuously. She wants to please so badly it makes us fear that life has not been kind to her. We think Meggie is about a year old, she seems to be house trained, and will be spayed this week. She would love to have a real home where people love her for the beauty she is. 🐾

We are always coming up with creative ways to promote our beautiful facility here at FOSS and raise money. When our loyal volunteer Sarah Stephens came up with this idea, we RAN with it!!! OogieBoogie says there might be ghosts and haints on Halloween, but he's not scared. He's too cute to be scared! Tickled PINK to introduce this wonderful girl. Pink is playful and sweet. She has done well playing with other dogs, knows basic commands, and loves to sit in a lap. We have discovered that beautiful Annabelle loves men. She can get a bit fractious with women, but seems to melt into men's arms. What can we say? Look at that pout! She's a flirt. Annabelle is a polydactyl cat with extra toes on her front feet and a soft gorgeous fur. Guys - don't you love a cat with thumbs? Beautiful, smiling Josie! You would never know this girl is 11 years old, even though the recent past has not been kind to her. Josie will need some extra meals to help her gain weight, but she is still a happy, bouncy, affectionate girl. Senior dogs are so special and appreciative of being rescued and spoiled in their golden years. The gala is tonight and Copper is ready for the party. Looking spiffy with his caramel chocolate coat and blue and red ticking, he is a gorgeous hound dog. He needs to be fed some scrumptious vittles to fill out and become the stunning boy he's going to be. Those green eyes are mesmerizing. Copper is very sweet, affectionate, and playful. "Hey! Whatcha doin'?" Cauldron is our tubby puppy just hanging out with her sisters and brother and wondering where they keep going. Mocha's other kitten is the gorgeous Chai. Chai has a calico face and a tortie body - she's the best of both! This sweet girl, her brother, and mama are all at Friends of Stokes Shelter. Every home needs a kitten or cat to compliment the decor.
