Do mares complain about Monday? No.
They are up early, biting the geldings, chasing food, being a boss and reminding everyone that they are the boss.

Happy New Year!

“No more champagne
And the fireworks are through
Here we are, me and you
…
Now’s the time for us to say Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is a friend
Happy New Year
Happy New Year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try …” —ABBA

I don't need anything from the tack store...
Said no horse girl ever!
What's on your wish list?
Happy Holidays!!! 🥳

Tackle Mondays like an alpha mare. If you can't pin your ears at it, eat it, kick it, or bite it...have nothing to do with it.

All I want for the Holidays is more money to buy stuff for my horse with.

GivingTuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. A global generosity movement, it unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world!

Three of our favorites include Urban Cowgirl Ranch for their empowerment of inner-city children, Horses' Honor for their rescue and support of senior equines, and DreamPower Horsemanship for their equine-assisted activities and therapies making a difference for children and veterans.

Who do you support?

There are many wonderful places in the world, but one of my favorite places is on the back of my horse.

Happy Thanksgiving! We've given our chestnut horses names like Pumpkin, Ginger, Spice, Flash, Princess, and Cloud. You could say they're the horsey equivalent of a Pumpkin Spice Latte! In honor of their fabulous color, and hot little characters, November is Chestnut Horse month!

Creating a harmonious community was the underlying theme carried out at North Peak Equestrian the moment Heesoo Kim acquired it. After 2 years of quiet observation and new friendships, Heesoo moved into action by installing rubber mats on the cement aisles flanking the indoor arena, creating a quiet zone to help our horses train, enhancing arena safety, and installing mats in the Diablo View and Creekside barn aisles to reduce summer dust and prevent winter mud. After replacing the footing in all arenas, she coated the arena and turnout footing, with an organic dust suppressant, allowing NPE to conserve water (vital for California). She installed an outdoor covered arena system to enhance and level the landing surfaces for our jumpers to train consistently year-round. She raised barn employee morale by upgrading conditions and promoted a barn manager from within. She communicates, is hands-on, and sticks to the rules that keep us safe.

Heesoo, we salute your vision, determination, and the soft voice that steered these changes. You did it on your own. You are the equestrian who sees our community with fresh eyes and embodies the kind of leadership that creates a beautiful environment for NPE riders (boarders and trainers) and our horses. Thank you.

When we realized your birthday was near, we had an “a-ha moment.” What better way to carry out our Heesoo’s vision than to share your story with equestrians and showcase your achievements to inspire others (special thanks to Laura Dwyer, Tracey Hill-Mores, and Creeky Routson for turning a non-equestrian into a devoted horsewoman)!
