A Walnut Creek organization on Friday announced it is partnering with 11 East Bay animal shelters to promote holiday adoptions while trying to find homes for a dozen abandoned Chihuahuas that were recently rescued in Calistoga.

When 25 Chihuahuas were discovered abandoned on a chilly night in Calistoga, Joybound responded immediately. We welcomed 12 of these vulnerable dogs, ensuring they received the attention and care they needed. And thanks to the compassion of supporters like you, their journey to healing and joy has already begun! Some have already been adopted, including Dash, whose new family told us, “Dash is such a love bug, and we are thrilled he’s part of our family. He’s already fitting right in, and his brothers greet him with kisses!”

"After 16 amazing years, our oldest dog Cory that we also got from Joybound sadly passed over the rainbow bridge last year. It took a few months of grieving, but eventually we started to look again. I asked Cory to send the next one to us, that we'd know right away they'll be the one, he sent us Clifford. The moment I walked into the room, Clifford started to frantically jump and cry out for me in his run. We brought our other dog (also adopted from joybound) to greet each other and it went really well. After some training, and lots of love he's become such an incredible, amazing dog. Clifford absolutely loves being on his backpack all. The. Time. He loves toys, but if you have a ball in your hand nothing else matters but that ball. The best part of all, they both have an underbite. Our perfect boys.

"Bro’s new name is now Lando! We’ve had him for 2 months now and he is just the sweetest cat! He’s always coming up to nuzzle and cuddle with us on the couch or in bed. Not a moment goes by where he doesn’t want to be snuggled up. He also loves waking us up every morning by hauling his toys onto the bed. His favorite toy is definitely his mouse that he loves playing fetch with. We’ve taken so many photos of him that we made him his own IG ()!"
