6 of our Hilltoppers came out for their C2 this weekend - the test included 4.5 hours of testing Friday evening at Wedgewood Farm - members longed, wrapped, presented their records, taught some D candidates, and spent hours sharing their prepared knowledge with our examiners. Saturday they arrived with the sun to Ashland Farm for a FULL day of riding tests. Many had successful rides and all had brilliant moments. Areas of strength across the board were the no stirrups work, surely thanks to all the games! There were successes and areas for growth for all members. I was so proud to listen in to candidates complimenting their ponies, being thorough and self reflective in their discussions, and incorporating feedback from our exceptional examiners Janna Bankston and Joann Redmon.

I can't wait to see where these lessons take them in pony club and in life!

Congratulations to each rider for their hard work and effort going into this, it is not a simple feat - I am thrilled with your attitudes and resilience through an unrelenting test, and I look forward to the announcements of each of your C2 Ratings as some sections are retested in the coming weeks and months. Congratulations to Loralei Marsh on completing the HM, Flat, and Jumping sections this weekend!

South Region USPC Members Audit for Free!

Started off this weekend’s Southern Series Games Competition with a C2 Wrapping Clinic for 6 South and Sunshine Region candidates. Roped in some C1 candidates as well.

How lucky are we to have excellent United States Pony Club volunteers to help prepare the kids. As testing approaches in about 3 weeks, the wraps are not yet perfect, but the candidates learned how to evaluate their wraps, what examiners will be looking for, and what correct wraps look like. Lots of practice in the coming weeks!

2024 Hilltopper of the Year: Anabelle Kurtz

Anabelle’s 2024 included stable managing for show jumping rally, volunteering in horse management for Tetrathalon, participating in the Sunshine Region Games Rally, and attending Championships for Games,

Anabelle attended numerous meetings, loaning her pony and helping to coach the up and coming pony clubbers. She has emerged as a prominent upper level leader in our club and we’re so lucky to have her.

Her peers nominated her saying things like
“She’s a great rider and friend who is always finding a way to help others”

“She’s so kind and caring to everyone and helps us all to learn”

“She’s a great role model and I love watching her”

“She’s always willing to share her pony and she’s an awesome friend and coach”

“She helped me study for my D3 and is always there to help others”

Our group is so lucky to be looking up to Anabelle! We’ve seen her grow so much throughout the years, and are excited to continue following her journey both in horses and in life!

Great opportunity for prep!

The National Testing Feedback Project allows current C-2 and above members to submit a video or document of a mounted or Horse Management skill and receive feedback from one or two national examiners. Members can continue building their national level skills and preparing for national certifications by receiving timely feedback from National Examiners.
