The mission at Gardners Pig Pen is to educate adopters in the care and housing of guinea pigs, find new homes for guinea pigs and provide advice and veterinary resources for guinea pigs.

Your donation helps when cases like this come in. 14 piggies came in on one Friday afternoon. Two pregnant, many suffering from scurvy. Every $1 helps feed, get them healthy and find them homes.

This is Cranberry. Cranberry was dropped in the custody of another animal care facility and cannot use her back legs and her incisor broke off at the gum line (she needs assisted feeding). Panicked call from San Jose Animal Control’s guinea pig volunteer that intake had turned away a girl with 3 boxes of piggies and she was afraid they’d be dumped. Luckily my foster Amanda and Cavy Hammy Haven jumped it and helped. 7 boys. 1 small girl and a mama and 3 newborns later…..

Boops and more boops as they try and charm second snack out of me.

Pigio didn’t come out to eat yesterday so off to the vet he went and how today he needs emergency bladder stone surgery. Please keep him in your thoughts, as a piggy anesthesia is already risky but he is also a senior.

Fresh pellets are best pellets.

Took me a bit to find the kissing booth from last year. Now I will get videos of the whole herd in it.

This beautiful Texel and her two sisters were found along a creek in Napa yesterday. No mats, no mud, freshly clipped nails. It makes no sense to me.

Runt next to the baby from the first litter (one boy, one girl, boy to be taken out this week at 21 days). The runt is small but is gaining weight at a good rate.
