Pets, like humans, have the ability to conceal their age. Try guessing the ages of “Katness” and “Jessie,” two patients of The Walton Animal clinic.
Winner recrives one Nexgard. But you must be a Walton Animal Clinic client to win.

UPDATE: Both “Jessie” and “Katness” were born Spring 2012, just a couple weeks apart. They wear 12-years-old pretty well! Looks like we have two winning clients.

“Emmie” and her family visited the Walton Animal Clinic this week. Dr. Meiman gave “Emmie,” a 4-month-old Goldendoodle vaccinations and a check up. “Juno,” a Brussels Griffon, also stopped by the clinic this week “Juno” is a Brussels Griffon, known for their dome heads, short noses, and an underbit. Their human-like facial features were the inspiration for the Ewok. Cute!

Pictures. Pictures. And more pictures. From princess dresses to kids happy to select a free toy for their pup, we’ve had a busy couple weeks at The Walton Animal Clinic. If you see your dog, give us a “shout out!”
Clinic clients who want a BarkBox toy for their dog, can stop by and select one. We have plenty! If you have some spare change, drop it in the basket. Money gathered goes to Crazy Cats Animal Rescue, a local, foster-based, non-profit cat rescue.

This is “Toby,” a 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier that visited The Walton Animal Clinic last week for his vaccinations and a well-check. The Walton Animal Clinic received a large donation of BarkBox toys recently. By all appearances, “Toby” loved the chew toy he selected.
If you are a Walton Animal Clinic client, please stop by and select a toy for your dog(s).
If you wish, leave a donation for Crazy Cats Animal Rescue, a local, all-foster based cat rescue. Cats are fostered in volunteers’ homes, until adoption. The group is also “very active” in Trap-Neuter-Return efforts.

It’s been a bustling week at The Walton Animal Clinic. At left, is “Dug.” He’s a 7-month-old mini golden doodle. At right, top, is “Cookie,” a shy, 3-year-old Labrador mix. “Axel” and “Jasmine” arrived for their first veterinary visit this weekend. They are almost 3-months old.
This week’s question. “DVM 360,” a publication for veterinary workers, recently released the top 10 poisons for pets. What are your guesses of what made the list. Top 3?

UPDATE: Here are the top 10 poisons for pets, according to DVM 360.
1. Chocolate
2. Grapes and raisins
3. Ibuprofen
4. Xylitol (often found in sugar-free gum and some peanut butter brands)
5. Bromethalin (a neurotoxin rodenticide)
6. Vitamin D
7. Ma*****na
8. Onions/garlic
9. Anticoagulant rodenticide
10. Carprofen (a non steroidal anti-inflammatory pain medication and only veterinary-approved medication to make the list.)
Keep your pet safe! Keep these out of your pet’s reach.
But if you find yourself with a potentially poisoned pet, call our office. The Poison Helpline is also available 24-7 by calling 1-800-213-6680.

This is “Remington,” at left, and “Beau,” at right. “Remington,” is a 3-year-old French Bulldog. Can you guess what genetic testing revealed about “Beau?” He is also 3-years old. Genetic testing revealed what four breeds?
Closest guesser wins a free Nexgard, right in time for Spring. Must be a Walton Animal Clinic client to guess.

UPDATE: So, straight from the genetic testing result sheet, “Beau” is:
* 57 percent American Pit Bull terrier
* 20.7 percent Boxer
* 18 percent Redbone Coonhound
* 4.3 percent collie.
Surprised?
Looks like Emily Bell is our winner. She had the first two in the correct order.

What does it mean when a cat blinks slowly?
ANSWER: According to our cat trivia source, when a cat blinks slowly, he or she is “kissing you.” But we are sure any form of showing love is an acceptable answer. Thank you all for your support.
