Come see me today at the Wamego Community Market from 4-7. Today might be my last day for the market season here. Come get some bouquets, honey, eggs and pork! See you soon!
Happy Market Day. I'm stocked back up on the OG lip balm: Peppermint. I made a trip to the locker and picked up more pork so I have ribs and shoulder roasts available. Lisianthus is making its seasonal debut and the weather is currently lovely. See you soon!
What a great day to be at the @farmersmarketmanhattanks. See you soon!
Burst of blooms coming to the market tomorrow. See you there!
Manhattan!! Today's the day to come and learn how to do CPR!! Riley County EMS is here at the market (right by our booth). I'm excited to see everyone who comes and learns.
On another note, it's Father's day weekend. Did you know most males never receive flowers in their lifetime? Let's fix that.....and you can take home some brats and brat burgers.
Hey Kansas City! It's bouquet drop off day at Wholefoods. This is the last week to grab a locally grown bouquet at the Brookside Wholefoods or Overland Park Wholefood's until the fall.
Come see us at the Wamego Community Market until 7 this evening. Come find goodies for every member of the family. There's a fun push pop craft for kiddos!!
In regards to parenting they say the days go by slowly and the years fly by. In regards to farming I think the same is true and maybe the days fly by too. I'm finding myself really trying to juggle the glass balls that can't be dropped and letting the less important bouncy ones fall to the ground. These past couple of days I have had some magic moments with my three favorite tiny humans as well as some rewarding ones with the farm. This day in particular was crammed to the max. It started with me loading the car to go to KC at 5:15 in the pouring rain. After a day of slinging stems, I returned to pick my son up from school. He read so many minutes during their school read-a-thon that he got to pick out the current book for the story walk around the park in Wamego. I saw my first tornado today. I shared the experience with my kids in the car with me. What a memory. I cherish the normal activities I get to share with my kids, such as taking our dogs for a walk.
Time is a thief that I definitely wish I could rob.
Nom nom nom... Moving the piggies to a new section of pasture. The grass really is greener on the other side.
Look at these ladies get some work done while having some fun rolling in the pollen of this peony bloom. I love being outside!
This hummingbird moth loves our flowers and we hope you do too! Come see us at the Downtown Farmers Market of Manhattan today before 1 p.m.
Are your kids begging to go to the pool in this heat??? Our piglets like to cool off in the water too.
Yesterday was a big day on the farm, this kid learned how to drive the lawn tractor. He hauled compost to amend the beds the dahlias are going to be planted into.

Chomp chomp chomp! Oh snap, the 🐉 are blooming in the tunnel.
It's starting to look more and more like Spring around here. A few days ago the predicted weather forecast starting in 10 days was going to be quite chilly at night (14 degrees 🥶). Lucky for us, the night time lows have gone up 10-15 degrees so it's looking like we won't have to put down double and triple layers of frost cloth. Yay farmer happy dance! Go out and enjoy the sunshine today!
Look what I'll have at the market tomorrow! Lots of eggs. I'll have chicken eggs and a small quantity of duck eggs available at the Downtown Farmers Market of Manhattan from 9-1. See you there!
It's official, we will be attending the Wamego Tulip Festival this year as a vendor! Can't wait!
Lambing season is here. It's such a special time of year. It's humbling, awe-inspiring, captivating, rewarding and sometimes heartbreaking.
I feel connected to these creatures. It's more than being there when they are born and loading them up onto the livestock trailer for them to go to the locker, it's all those tiny moments in between. The tiny tail wages when they suckle at their mom's teats, watching each member of the herd welcome a new lamb arrival, it's the golden hour run around in the pasture, and it's watching them be content chewing their curd on pasture I've planted. I am the keeper of their stories.
