Shelter Bio:
Melia, our sweet 2.5 Year old girl has endured so much, in such a short time. This 50 pound sweetie, originally arrived to the shelter in October 2022 after being found hungry and alone in an apartment after her owners left her behind. Once at the shelter, she was quickly reclaimed by a family member only to end up at the shelter again in June 2023. Then, October 2023 she went to foster, and was returned in January 2024 due to an incident in the home. Melia is going to need a patient home, where she can learn there are good people who want to do right by her. Since arriving back to the shelter, she has started to have mini-milestones! She is learning that leashes mean time to be walked! She is still a bit nervous in the kennels, however, once outside, she is eager to run, play and engage. Melia needs a home that respects her space and will go slow. At this time, she can be placed in an adult only home, due to general fear.

Meet Bullseye! Our 2 year old American Bulldog. This big, 85 pound boy came to us overnight via our local police. Bullseye seems to be very housebroken, and knows his basic cues.. So, someone must have had him, right? Unfortunately, no one ever came to reclaim him. Bullseye absolutely LOVES toys (seriously, obsessed with playing fetch!) And he is dang good at it! Being Bullseye is a big boy, he can have tendencies to pull on lead but staff has been working with him and he is already doing a bit better. When he does get adopted, it is recommended to continue training.

It’s a rainy Saturday morning in New York so that means more time in the kennel for Bullseye ☹️ we can’t wait to see him stretched out on a dog bed in a home instead of a town shelter kennel 🙏🏼 let’s get him seen before hitting 200 days here! Dog friendly but no small dogs. Kids 16+

Shelter Bio:
Beefy boy! Our 68 pound black and white terrier mix came to us recently with 2 other dogs. We got a call from a neighbor who stated there was a dog on a roof. Our officers arrived with the local PD, where they were able to safely get the dog off. The two other dogs (one being Beefy) were inside with a cloudy water bowl and chewed up plastic bits. Thankfully, Beefy did not ingest any foreign bodies and is as happy as ever! Although, he would be much happier in a home of his own. Beefy is a playful, 2-year-old boy who loves toys, especially playing tug-of-war and just being around people! Beefy is suggested to go to a home a solo-dog. He was in a foster home and was absolutely pleasant, however once he became comfy, he exhibited signs of guarding; due to this we recommend him to be in a home with teens (trainer discretion). Beefy is a handsome fella, that will provide hours of fun!

Beefy has been at the shelter 230 days. 💔 Please share far & wide so he can be seen and find a home! 🙏🏽
