🐈 ❤️ FIND the Feline Love of Your Life at PETCO Plainview. ❤️ 🐈
Sadly, CARAMEL(male) & VALENTINA (female) did not get adopted before Valentines Day, now St. Patrick’s Day is approaching.
They are from our "Sweet Treat" litter of 5 young kittens born at the beginning of November. 💙
VALENTINA almost matches the snow & ice, except for 1 tabby ear. CARAMEL has a warm tabby scarf over his ears.
These adorable littermates were taken in by a Queens man who cared for them as long as he could.
Then he handed them over to an ever-vigilant feline advocate [who vetted them, and they were] later given the OK to enter the Last Hope Cat Adoption Center.
Our kitten kin should be snatched up by adopters quickly because they are small & so friendly. They need not be adopted as a pair.

FIONA arrived at Last Hope in Wantagh in late February.
She is full grown at 43 lbs-medium-size & is showing off her trademark pink nose to her Facebook Fans.

She started out as one of 3 small kittens rescued in Melville.

Since he is full grown at 20 pounds & 3 years old, BJ is the perfect size to blend with every size family.

LEO found Love while waiting in Petco Wantagh.
This orange tabby fellow was rescued from the streets.(or maybe boardwalk) in Long Beach.
His new Mom discovered him at our satellite store adoption location.
LEO doesn't know yet, but in time, he will meet his new sister cat.

COLBY is not Your Typical Texan, even though he & his almost twin brother CALEB were homeless in Texas, and traveled 2 days by roads to Last Hope in NY.
Doodle Dogs do not fit the image of the Lone Star State or Alamo. 🐕
We are thrilled that COLBY- a canine treasure- is a Loved NY DOG now, and thrilled we will get yes, CALEB was adopted too.

SOCRATES, KING, & LEO are Penn-Marydel Foxhounds which is a variety of American Foxhound developed in Pennsylvania & the eastern shore of Maryland & Delaware.
Hence, their name.
And the American Foxhound breed was developed by George Washington.
Such All-American pups! (Bet they will grow up to love the burgers at All-American in Massapequa. )
We are looking for Foster-to-Adopt homes that are ready to raise active, athletic, large Hound pups with a keen sense of smell.

Yesterday, Lindsey, company co-owner , and Melissa, manager, delivered 2 car loads of supplies to Last Hope.
Lindsey launched an online Community Give Back campaign in February, asking her 200+ clients to contribute specific items from our Wish List. Either the clients' pet sitter could pick up donations from them, or they could ship supplies directly to Lindsey. Staff members donated also.
The result was a Wall of Supplies filling one side of the Last Hope lobby.
Our volunteers were overwhelmed by the generosity of the SUBURBAN PETS family of dog & cat lovers.
Highlights from the
Mother Lode of gifts include:
😻 6 Canisters of KMR -powdered infant kitten formula. KMR is powdered gold to Last Hope during Kitten Season.
🦕 Mucho Milkbones- Enough to Re-construct a Brontosaurus skeleton.
🌎 Bleach & Dish Soap- Gallons Galore.
🐈 Plethora of Paper Towels- rolls, cases, huge cartons....end to end these would stretch from Wantagh to Washington State. Paper towels are a precious commodity at our adoption center.
🐕 Cases of canned cat food & huge bags of dry dogfood- the brand our pets eat, plus more cat food for our feral cat feeders.
🎒 500 heavy duty garbage bags...look at that # again.
🧸 Cat Toys & Kongs
🐶 Martingale Collars - the special, secure style our dogs wear, and are sent home wearing.
🐕 NIBBLES our Collie/ Shepherd "Mr. Congeniality " expressed his gratitude by smothering Lindsey & Melissa with sloppy, dog kisses.
And Serendipity played a part in Last Hope being "adopted" by the kind SUBURBAN PETS peeps.
Long-time Last Hope volunteer Laura Brannigan is a staff member. Her commitment to rescue helped spark Lindsey's idea for Last Hope as beneficiary of their Community GiveBack.
Laura & family have cherished SLIM JIM for over 10 years. I took SLIM JIM, an adorable Chihuahua, from Babylon Town Shelter to Last Hope over a decade ago.
Pairing SUBURBAN PETS & Laura & SLIM JIM & Last Hope & a municipal shelter are all Parts of the Rescue Circle of Life.

This adorable 10 month old puppy was pulled from deplorable conditions in a Georgia home with 7 other dogs.
He has Collie/ Shepherd look, and is only 25 pounds.
He is very friendly with people & other dogs. Would be best with older kids because he likes to jump up to show his deep affection.

🐈 Our Big Brooklyn Boy BARNEY Has Gone Home with Wonderful Pet Parents.😻
His new Mom & Dad adopted our OWEN 3 yrs ago.
He also is FIV+, and they felt OWEN needed a BFF.
They also felt BARNEY had a similar laid-back demeanor , and they would be a good match.
BARNEY is from a free roamer room so we know he likes other cats.
BARNEY slept through the signing of his adoption paperwork. His eyes were slits for his GO HOME picture.
But, most important, his eyes look so happy.
BARNEY is a long way from Canarsie.

DAISY is 10 years old, cat & small dog friendly, 30 lbs, and a good fit for a home with teens & adults.
She would love to be pampered & cherished because the look in her suggests memories of a troubled life in Texas was filled with deprivation & neglect.
It's a good thing that dogs live in the present because once DAISY finds her special peeps all her dreadful memories will be washed away.
Hope that home happens soon.

🐈 ❤️ Greetings from METRO! He is a big boy now.💙 🐈 Do you remember his rescue in 2022? Here goes- 💙METRO-was adopted by the Kind Lady who Discovered him stuck on the Metro North Tracks.💙 😻Little METRO had a Harrowing Tale to Tell.😻 John Debacker was called to rescue him in Nov 2022 after this dear lady heard desperate cat cries from a track below. John netted the tiny, terrified orange tabby. More from John: "After being heard screaming down on the metro-north train tracks since yesterday, we flagged down nearby cops that were able to get the power shut-off and escorted us onto the tracks to save the terrified kitten. Thank you to Kristine Malone for making the call to us." METRO went to Last Hope with an approved application from Kristine Malone until he was old enough to be neutered. On his adoption day, he met his new Mom & rescuer for the first time-face to face. She & her daughter were at Last Hope to pick him up & bring METRO to his Forever Home. 🐕 👩 Listen to MILLIE speaking to her Mom Sarah (Last Hope volunteer) in this video.. Yes, MILLIE is communicating her concerns. Sarah is the only person MILLIE speaks to. But a young lady like MILLIE, should always consider her mother to be her BFF. 🐕 👩 MILLIE had a troubled past, and a Cinderella story. She came to Last Hope in fall 2023 from Texas after she & her brother were hit by a car there. Her puppy brother was killed, and MILLIE suffered lacerations which later tests showed included a deeper orthopedic injury. MILLIE has had several specialists look at her leg, including orthopedic experts at the Schwartzman Animal Medical Center in NYC, who all agree there is no surgical way to fix her leg without pain & a limp that linger. So maybe, MILLIE is lamenting her slight lameness, or her "girl troubles". Or maybe , MILLIE is really upset she hasn't been chosen as flower girl or bridesmaid , now that her Mom Sarah is engaged. 🔬 On a serious & scientific note, researchers at Univ of Michigan are using AI to try to decipher the messages behind different vocalizations when a dog barks . 🐈‍⬛️ JESSE "Catcalling" his sister SADIE. 🐕 JESSE ( formerly MAGOO) was 1 of 89 cats rescued from a hoarder house in Bellmore several years ago. Most were hiding inside the walls, but, JESSE, was the Cat Mr. CONGENITALITY of the bunch when Last Hope met & took him from Town of Hempstead Shelter where all tge seized cats were held. SADIE ( formerly SLIPPERS) was a sweet Field Spaniel mix who came to Last Hope on a Georgia rescue transport in August . Both have been so fortunate to be adopted by Kim and Sue. Kim happens to ve both a Last Hope dog & cat volunteer so he meets all our orphans. 😻 Update on "A Kitten Called WANDA" 🐈‍⬛️ This is WANDA, the tiny tortie that John Debacker netted & saved when she was stranded against the median on Wantagh Parkway during rush hour last week. WANDA has been chilling at Last Hope since her ordeal seen on TV news. She is about 7-8 weeks old & quite frightened. John has bern working with her at Last Hope Wantagh, and lots of TLC & handling have softened her fear. Previously, she would hide under her blanket, shivering in fear. NOT ANY MORE...WANDA is a purring machine, welcoming petting. [ Listen carefully to the video] The person who first noticed WANDA stranded on the parkway & posted her danger is interested in adopting WANDA. WANDA is waiting to be spayed so she can move to a safe & loving home. This tiny tortie is on the cusp of beginning of " A WONDERFUL LIFE". #ThanksJohn #Thanks2thepersonwhosawWANDAindistress
