‼️Are you sitting down? This might be the best story yet. ❤️

We’ve been to the Town of Hempstead Shelter a lot and taken cats from different situations. There was one big group there since the summer who came from a bit of a cat hoarding situation. Some were indoor outdoor, some weren’t, but they were all around 8-12 years old. We have taken a few who seemed like they would do well at the cafe, but Sparkle didn’t seem like she would like the chaos. Fast forward to this past visit when we were told Sparkle was STILL there, STILL stressed in the cage, and declining as of lately. So we took her. Little chronically gooey eyed, semi sassy, very stressed and sad 10 year old girl, deserved her chance to shine.

Sparkle came in kicking & screaming on Friday bc it’s a huge change from being in a small cage for months and months, so we had her in a big condo with the sides covered so she could decompress at her own pace. Saturday morning she decided to come out and stretch her legs. A first hour visitor claimed that she looked like the stray they used to feed and take care of at the house the had recently moved from but they hadn’t seen her in months so they imagined she passed away. “Frosty” was the name they used and I kinda blew it off because a lot of times cats just look alike.

Her photos and mom’s posts over the years proved that Sparkle was FROSTY!!!! She would come in and out of the house and visit her favorite neighbors, take walks with them and their dogs, and even come in and take naps. They always loved her but knew she (and the others) were that person’s cats, so they let them be.

Without hesitation they adopted Sparkle/Frosty. This sad, depressed girl had been in the shelter since the summer, we just took her FRIDAY and they came in SATURDAY????? So now this angel of a cat who has been so patiently waiting, gets to be with her favorite neighbors FOREVER!!!! Every single thing happens for a reason and this one is really incredible to us. She was meant to be with them, and they were meant to visit us this weekend.
