Auglaize County Humane Society is seeking a full-time caretaker. Come join our team!
We have an opening for a special, animal loving, caretaker. This position will be around 40 hours weekly and will involve some weekends. Must be able to handle dogs of all sizes and cats. Work well with the public as well as knowledge of computer and phone skills. Applicant will need to be self motivated, reliable, responsible and respectful. Pets can’t actually give the thumbs up (no thumbs and all), but if they could they’d be way up. Don’t take our word for it, come see for yourself! We offer 10 k9 kennel spaces, as well as a few feline spaces that are separate from the dogs. 1st class boarding!

Hi! My name is Dexter. I am a 1 1/2 year old Husky/Pit mix. I'm a pretty large dog weighing approximately 65-70lbs. I’m getting neutered on 3/19. I will be able to go home after that, but am ready to find my forever family now. I am a typical young dog and don’t have an off switch. I am very vocal when I play but it's just because I have so much to say! I love to explore and get into things. I have had a great start at socialization and am very brave in new experiences. My favorite past time is digging holes and playing tag. I tend to get the zoomies at playtime. I am crate trained and am working very hard on learning my commands. I am very well behaved.

ADOPTION FEE: $225
All ACHS dogs are given initial vaccines (Distemper and Bordetella), wormed, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
FENCE: Encouraged but not required.
DOG IN HOME: Required. We will not adopt to be an outside pet.
CHILDREN: Older. He has a lot of energy.

INQUIRIES: ALL adoptions begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, https://www.achs-pets.com/adoptapp.html . We will not respond to Inquiries.
We will not adopt to individuals under the age of 18.

Meet Kitty! Kitty is 7 years old and has been with us since 2020. She is a very sweet girl who just needs a second to warm up to you. She loves head scratches and looking outside. She has a small kink at the bottom of her tail, most likely from an accident when she was a kitten. She is our favorite petite senior who would do amazing in a quieter home with not a lot of action. She keeps her space tidy and loves water fountains. If you're older and looking for a new addition to your life, look no further!

Hello! My name is Bruce! People are friends, not food. Just kidding! Bruce loves people! Bruce is an amazing 1 year old, male, Chocolate Lab mix. He is mixed with something big because he already weighs close to 100 pounds. He would love somewhere with a big yard or acreage to run on. He will be neutered, given initial vaccines and microchipped when he is available for adoption. We have not tested with cats or kids yet but will before he goes home.

Meet Diamond! This chunky little girl came in because her family sadly got displaced after the tornados in Indian Lake. She's been here almost a year now, and is very ready to find her furever family! She is a very talkative cat; whether it's because she wants attention or food or anything in between, she will let you know. She loves to cuddle, and her favorite thing to do is sleep. She loves her treats and catnip just as much as she loves being pet. She is definitely one of our favorite chunky couch potatoes and know she would become yours, too!

Congrats to everyone who went home this past week!!! Diamond, Diesel, and Bob got adopted from the event Evans Chevrolet GMC held for us!!! Bianca also got adopted, but seperate from the adoption event. We are so happy these amazing animals have found their furever homes and so grateful to Evans for helping us find them their new families!

STEP 3: TAKE TO VET OF YOUR CHOICE FOR THE APPOINTMENT WITH SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHER. HAVE VET FILL OUT THEIR PORTION. YOU WILL PAY THE VET FOR THE SERVICE.
STEP 4: BRING BACK REBATE VOUCHER TO THE SHELTER BEFORE APRIL 12TH, WITH A COPY OF YOUR RECIEPT

Meet Sasha and Syd! They were born here on April 16th, 2024, meaning they are coming up on their first birthday! We would really love them to not have to spend the first year of their life here. Lets find these sweet girls a furever home before their birthday!

Sasha is a very reserved cat. She doesn't care to be pet and is skittish around people. She would make the perfect roommate for someone, but not the perfect cuddle buddy. She loves comfy places to sleep and catnip! While she may not be the most social with people, she would make an amazing friend for other cats in your home! Syd is a more open than her sister. She is shy when you first approach her but as soon as you start petting her she kicks her motor on and wont stop purring! She loves ear scratches and doesn't mind being held - on her own terms, of course. She is a very sweet cat who gets along great with other cats!

Happy Valentine's Day from our fur family to yours! Everyone here is soooo excited to meet potential furever families tomorrow at Evans Chevy/GMC from 12-2. These sweet babies decided to give you a preview of the booths that will be there with them. Of course the dogs will give all the slobbery kisses you could ever wish for! The cats, however... Let's just say their booth says hissing for a reason... haha, in all seriousness, we cannot wait to show everyone these awesome animals tomorrow! We hope you've had an amazing Valentine's Day!
