Dear Santa, Thank you for working your magic with Rukus. We heard he went home for the holiday's. We would like to ask you for a Christmas miracle of our own. You see, me and my friends were put into a small box and someone taped it shut. They didn't put any holes in the box so it's a miracle that we didn't suffocate. But that wasn't the worst part, they dumped us outside of Petco in Middletown, on the side of the building where it was dark. The temperature was only about 10 degrees that night. Thankfully for us, an employee was out collecting carts and he heard us scratching to get out of the box. He had no idea what was making the noise but he carried us inside. Everyone gathered around as they cut the box open. I heard someone say "look at these poor babies, they're starving and cold". To be honest, we were not cared for very well by our owner. There were doubts about whether a couple of us would even survive. Well it's been a few days and all 5 of us are alive. What we want now is to find a home where we will be loved and cared for. We are all super friendly and we aren't holding any grudges. Here's a video of us eating our first meal at CARE of DC. As you can see, we were really hungry! Meet josie ! A very generous person sponsored this sweet girls adoption fee! She is 1 year old and only weighs around 35 pounds! She is currently in a foster home working on her potty training and leash walking skills. She also shares her foster home with a kitty cat. She doesn’t mind her too much but does try to chase her in she runs away, her foster mom said it’s in a playful way. She has done well with other dogs but as always, we recommend a meet and greet before taking this girl home. We rarely get to post about our transports because we're usually too busy unloading. This time we took some pictures and we wanted to share them. These dogs and cats arrived last week. Most were spayed/neutered on Monday and are now ready for adoption. This is what it looked like when the van rolled in from Asheville, NC. We're so grateful for our volunteers that were there to help! ❤️

Onyx had such a fun day at the lake! 🐾💦 He loves to splash around in the water and was such a good boy. We had so much fun with him, and it was so sweet to see him out of the shelter and being a silly, goofy pup! He is a 7-month-old boy and is looking for his forever home.
