We are a Cage Free Senior Dog Sanctuary and Hospice. Puppies Under Protection, Inc. is proud to present "The Senior Scenter". None of our residents live in cages.

Our "Old Timers Crib" was built to accommodate Senior Dogs that have been dumped at shelters or become "homeless" due to their owner passing or entering a nursing home, etc. As much as we would like, we do have a limit on how many seniors we can house and unfortunately can not take them all. Everyone has 24/7 free range of the home and the yard. Many have medical problems and may only be given we

eks or months to live. Our plan is to make sure that they are loved and comfortable up until and especially at their last moment on earth. Most of our seniors are here till they "Cross The Bridge" so there are no adoption fees like a regular rescue. We provide them with EVERY comfort a dog could need or want. The best food, comfy beds, a/c, heat, music, TV and LOTS of love . . 24/7!! If you like what we do, there are several ways you can help! We depend greatly on volunteers and donations so please message us with any questions.

Meet Sylvie and Novella (formally named Bookbinder)! Two more of our new kids. We don’t have much information on the background of these two, but they were both unclaimed strays from local shelters and dealing with age and medical challenges, which have been addressed by For the Love of Poodles (FLOP) rescue. They are both settling into the pack at the SS and enjoying the meals! Sylvie was just 5 lbs when she was rescued by FLOP and now weighs 7lbs! WooHoo! The Care Team is getting to know their personalities and of course we have fallen in love with these two precious babies! So adorable! 😍🐾

It's been crazy busy at the farm these last few weeks with all the goings on at the farm and the opening of the Funny Farm Thrift Store. Our sassy guy, Moses, had a mass removed from his back. He's home recovering and as you can see feeling good. We'll have more information in posts about Moses, some new kids at the SS and other updates.

Vet Visit

Kali had her hands and car full yesterday! Five of our kids had vet visits. Bently, one of Jeanne's pack, had a dental as did Max. Max had all his remaining teeth removed and Bently had six removed. Rascal, Galen, Sicily all went for exams and blood work. All the kids did well including Max and Bently.🐾💖😊
