Happy Halloween friends! A few of you have asked about when SOTS would have some rabbits available recently, and it is going to be a while. We are running late starting up breeding this year, and it takes almost 3 months from breeding day to ready to go. The breeders still haven't even started right now so the soonest will probably be mid February to sometime in March.

There's some maintenance I need to do on our hutches and have not been able to start it, and need it done before the does are pregnant or nursing.

But... when we DO start back up you all will be the first to know!

These 9 little ones were ready to leave the nestbox this weekend. 2.5 weeks old and they have full fur and open eyes, and curious minds! Broadway did a great job with this litter - more survived than her last few times.

We are a pretty small operation here at SOTS, but we have great employees! Rabbits who (finally) produce enthusiastically, and the big lug there in the grass who protects the yard from every sparrow, cardinal, and airplane in sight.

Those 6 cages are it. But man, what comes out of them is magical! Some of the most beautiful young 🐇 🐇 around. The challenge of this year, though, is that we are drowning in BUCKS! Last litter only had 1 doe, and you can't get any pairing at all for breeding unless there are more does. Hopefully the next litter (currently 1 week old) will prove more feminine.

Meanwhile, if anyone needs a buck or two, LMK!

Did some tattoos today on our 12 kits that just reached 6 weeks old! A couple were being curious and peeping over the wagon side, but I'm not entirely sure whether they wanted to see what was happening, or wanted some of the frosty beverage in that bottle!

7 of these kits are still available if you need them. 2 does and 5 bucks. Ready to go 2/1/25!
