Good Friday mornin friends!
This is the time of year that my phone begins to ring with calls for nucs and queens.
Our call center works from 4:30-6:00am, then from 6:00-8:00pm.
I return texts, emails, and fb messages at those times (sometimes at lunch if I take it)
My daily workload many times requires me to use 3 hands, and unfortunately, I was only born with 2. That means my phone stays in the truck during work hours.
Keep in mind, the store is open Saturday and Sunday, and I'm available to talk bees and equipment during that time!

Good Friday mornin friends!
Many of you know that I'm as tech savvy as a rock!
I break into a cold sweat at the thought of having to do anything that involves a computer or techy type device. Almost everything in todays world requires electronics, tech, apps, and now enter the God Forsaken QR codes!!
I was forced to scan my first QR code recently!
My phone is old enough that it doesn't have that feature. But guess what?? THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT!! That app has now completely changed the screen on my phone, to the point I can't find many features I've gotten used to over the last 6 years..........

I often forget what gets accomplished in a year!
It certainly gives me a warm feeling looking back over the past year, and to think I've pushed the goals higher, brought a couple of events back to the schedule, and added a few new things to the "Honey-Do-List"!
Stay tuned for many upcoming announcements!
I've enjoyed the "Meet Your Beekeeper" events so much, that I'll be adding many more to the schedule this coming year!

Good Tuesday mornin friends!
As I was driving to a job yesterday morning, the talk show host was discussing "FAILURE ", and how FAILURE IS NOT FINAL.
Her words certainly struck a chord with me, and turned my thoughts towards my own failures.
I've always pushed myself to be better than I was the day before. Not better than someone else, but the best I can be. This continuous effort to make a better product, produce more efficiently, or simply experience more to be able to teach more, has often pushed personal limits, and definitely met failure along the way. Some of the best lessons I've learned over the years are from failures, and how to pick up the pieces, correct the problem, set another goal, and move forward!
Last spring I was asked to raise queen cells for a large operation in North Carolina, while I was raising queens for our own use. These numbers were at levels I had never come close to producing at one time. If you followed the page then, you were aware of the work involved setting things up to meet this request.
There were some FAILURES as I met the challenge, but the knowledge I gained, and changes I made, put those numbers at an obtainable goal, and made me a better queen breeder.
I've instilled the same practices throught the rest of our bee operation, whether it be nuc production, honey production, or working with farms for pollination. I've pushed my limits with every aspect, and will do the same this coming season!
You never know your true potential without pushing yourself to the point of FAILURE!
Always remember....."FAILURE ISN'T FINAL"

If you're a regular visitor to our store, you've certainly met Honey and Logan, and understand we are dog people!
We're now asking that you be patient as we start to introduce Ruby and Charlie to the store and our visitors.
Charlie is definitely a people pup, but Ruby has just recently struggled with trusting people she doesn't know.
We ask that you simply ignore her and help her get over this hurdle. We have confidence that with the help from our friends here, she'll be ready to be petted by everyone very soon!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2025 SPRING NUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Saturday mornin friends!
We will be selling a limited number of nucs again this coming spring, as we will be using a certain number of the nucs we produce to build our colony numbers up to meet the increasing requests of local farms for pollination.
I produce every one of our queens/nucs from stock selected from our operation. I have been testing for hygienic behavior and mite resistance with the UBeeO method, and will be adding another recognized method (Harbo Assay) as I continue to improve the genetics I've worked on for the past 7 years.

Criteria I select for while choosing which colonies to graft from include:
Ability to overwinter in northern climates.
Varroa resistant.
Early spring build up.
Honey production.
Wax production.
Gentleness.
These are not "Walk away splits", swarms, or colonies from removals. They are nucs made with our queens that carry the genetics we use in our own operation.

Nucs will be available starting in May. Queens will be available by the end of April.
Call, text, or message the page here to get on the list. Name, phone number, and number of nucs requested are required.
I will notify customers starting at the top of the list.

This will be the 2nd year I am not requiring deposits for spring nucs.
This will be the 3rd year I've been able to keep my prices at $195.

Drain the tanks and clean up is what's left of the 2024 honey season! Time to get the girls ready to head south!
