Early this morning we received a remarkable act of kindness when someone brought us a deceased cat that was hit by a car near 9 Mile and Ryan in Warren. It was an adult unaltered male, gray and white, Domestic Short Hair, weighing approximately 9lbs. We took the initiative to scan for a microchip, though sadly it didn't yield any further information. If you or someone you know may be missing a cat matching that description, please don't hesitate to contact us. We do have a photo, which we can share at that time. We are holding him for now in hopes we may be able to find an owner and bring closure to those who care.

Save This Life Microchips has unexpectedly shut down and unlinked its database from national registries.

******Important note******
Parkview Animal Hospital has never used the Save this life microchips. If your pet’s microchip was purchased at Parkview, no need to worry! Your pet’s information is safe and no action is needed.

Here’s what you need to know and what to do:

If your pet’s microchip number starts with either 991 or 900164, then you have one of the Save This Life microchips.
The microchips themselves remain safe and functional.
However, due to the database shutdown, pet owners must take immediate action to ensure their pet's microchip information is accessible.

To prevent any issues if your pet ever goes missing, please re-register your pet’s microchip number as soon as possible at one of the following sites:
Free Registry Service at www.freepetchipregistry.com. This FREE registry is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool, ensuring your contact information is available when scanned.
PetLink at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) or Petlink Registration. Register Save This Life microchipped pets with petlink.net for only $9.99 using the discount code: VEDCO.

HomeAgain at 1-888-466-3242 or homeagain.com. Register Save This Life microchipped pets with HomeAgain for no charge when using code EnrollSTL.

Unsure of your pet’s chip number or the company they are registered with? Call, email or text our hospital to have your pet's information retrieved or to schedule an appointment for a quick scan with a Universal Reader

Free Pet Chip Registry is dedicated to the well being and safe return of your pet when lost! Free registration for all pets with microchips in North America!
