We are all happy to be back at daycare & feeling better. Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Three viruses at the same time was tough and I missed all the doggos.
Miss Bella is recovering nicely from her surgery and it’s hard to keep her calm. Look out pups when she gets her stitches out! 🤣😂

Today, we honor and celebrate the extraordinary life and service of our nation's newest living Medal of Honor Recipient, Kenneth David, one of only 61. Please join us in wishing him a very happy birthday!

David demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness on May 7, 1970, during a ferocious enemy assault near Fire Support Base Maureen in Thua Thien Province, Vietnam. Serving as a radio-telephone operator, he acted decisively when his unit suffered heavy casualties, including the loss of their leader. Passing his radio to another soldier, he moved to the front line, delivering relentless fire against the enemy and holding his position despite overwhelming odds. Recognizing the danger posed to the wounded within the defensive perimeter, he moved beyond its safety, deliberately drawing enemy fire toward himself to shield his injured comrades.

As the enemy intensified their assault, he faced continuous fire and an explosion that wounded him, yet he remained steadfast, using grenades and his weapon to repel attackers. When a medic approached to assist him, David refused aid, insisting he was fine and continuing to fight, ensuring the safety of incoming medevac helicopters. After reinforcements arrived, he carried a wounded soldier to safety and returned to the fight, providing covering fire until the enemy retreated. Only then did he allow himself to be evacuated for medical treatment.

David’s unwavering bravery, determination, and self-sacrifice in the face of overwhelming danger saved lives and exemplified the highest ideals of valor and service, bringing immense credit to himself, his unit, and his country.
