Two stray dogs brought into the shelter.
The black lab is a neutered male with an orange collar but no tags. He was found on SE 1221 Rd in K**b Noster.

The red heeler is a female with a teal collar but no tags. She was found on SW 2 Hwy in Chilhowee. Neither are microchipped.

If these dogs belong to you, please contact us at 660-747-2127 or come by the shelter. You must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid photo ID, and proof of ownership to reclaim. 🐾

If you have visited ODAS lately and have gone into the cat room, you know Tigger! Tigger usually spends his days hanging out in one of the kitty clubhouses, relaxing and taking lots of naps! He is good with other cats, but likes to hide when dogs come in to visit. Tigger is a big, quiet guy that needs a couch to hold down and call his own. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventative care! Come adopt Tigger today! 🐾

"Hi! I'm Buddy! My legs may be short and stumpy, but man do I LOVE to go on walks! I might be good with the other dogs in your house, but I would like to meet them first before you take me home. I'm not sure how I feel about cats, but I definitely think chasing them would be a fun game! I always hear the shelter staff talk about how they wonder why I'm still here. I would really like a home to call my own soon, especially if it has kids to play with! Come and meet me today!"

Buddy is around 4 years old, 30 lbs, and we are guessing some sort of lab mix. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventative care.

Let's talk about microchips! It's astounding how many dogs and cats are brought to us as strays who are "lost" that aren't microchipped. Seriously, guys! It's a SMALL investment to make when you're at your veterinarian's office during your next visit--AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!

If your animal is microchipped and gets lost, anyone who finds it can take it to a veterinarian's office or the shelter to have it scanned--FREE SERVICE! The microchip company is alerted, and they (along with the vet's office or shelter) will call you (and/or email you) so you can be reunited! Microchips are even more important for those who aren't on social media as they may miss a Facebook post about a lost/found pet--but when microchipped, you'll get a phone call!

NOTE: We cannot provide this service for animals not in our care, custody or control. HOWEVER, any veterinarian's office can do this for you. Call them directly for pricing.

GHOUL HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!

"Hi, I'm Ghoul! I am a male adult mixed breed dog. I love interacting with people and giving kisses! If you're looking for a food motivated dog with a strong nose to train, I'm your guy! I learn new skills very quickly and I'm not picky about my treats! I'm learning some basic commands and tricks at the shelter, ask to see them when you come visit me! I am good with other dogs too, so make sure you bring any other dog friends to meet me!"

Ghoul is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventative care. He has been at the shelter for 258 days! Come meet Ghoul today!

Here at ODAS, one of our favorite ways to provide enrichment for our dogs is through playgroups! Not only is it one of the best ways to keep their brains busy, but it also provides them social interaction, exercise, and they help with reducing stress.

Did you know, a 30-minute play session is equivalent to a 2-hour leash walk? It also helps shelter staff be able to assess them, so we are able to better fit them into the right furever home!

Right now, we have A LOT of dog friendly dogs! If you are interested in finding your dog a play mate, come to Old Drum Animal Shelter and we can make that happen! You can even bring your dog (appointment needed) to do a meet and greet and make sure it's the right fit! We hope to see you soon! 🐾
