Success Story Sunday! 🎉♥️🥹
The first things we noticed about Ellen were her petite frame and her demure nature. We had been without a dog for three years. And after sharing our home with three successive Newfoundlands, it was a new experience to be attracted to a small dog. We began to think maybe, just maybe, this Border Collie/Plotthound blend could be our new companion. We took her home to foster and fell in love.
Despite living in less than ideal conditions for her first year, she surprised us with her joy for life and her sweet affection. She was a quiet watcher, and communicated almost solely with her bright brown eyes. After we adopted her, it wasn’t long before she surprised us again with the comical side of her personality. When she isn’t sitting up like a person, watching dog television from her very own chair, she is looking at us with human-like expressions.
Outdoors, she runs circles around the house and in the yard with ecstatic abandon. When she is tired after playing, she loves to snooze on her back with her feet in the air.
As I write this, trying to describe her antics, she is entertaining herself by tossing a tennis ball in the air and then chasing it. Did I mention we are in love?
