Meet WILLOW - A super sweet Chihuahua mix ready to meet her new family! She's being fostered by Brian & his pack and is one of the easiest dogs he's had. She's housebroken, loves people, gets along with other dogs, walks great on-leash, sleeps quietly all through the night and rides well in a car. My lovely fellow dog owners! I just wanted to drop a tip for all of you who have had a medical/ first-aid concern for your dog.

I just had a great experience with Chewy's Vet Connect. Sailor has been licking his paw and I was able to connect with a vet within minutes, show her pictures and ask her if there was anything I could do at home. I pulled a plant burr out of his paw a week or so ago and the irritation caused him to lick and probably produce a mild yeast infection. She asked me what I had at home, told me what would work and suggested OTC products for a simple skin irritation. It was nice to have my concern addressed IMMEDIATELY without having to wait for a scheduled appointment with his vet.

I ADORE Sailor's vet, but the vet industry is inundated with clients and I feel that Sailor's issue did not need to take up a slot on her calendar that could go to a dog who was really sick.

Having worked in the vet industry I have also seen well-meaning folks who have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at a potential yeast infection between the toes and ended up causing a worse infection (I'm talking coconut oil, hydrogen peroxide, garlic, everything!) :( This is a great way to get professional, sensible advice for these concerns. Obviously, it does not replace seeing your vet in person, but instead could be used as first-aid advice.

We love doing group classes in these real world settings. Our dogs learn so much more practicing their skills in these environments and we get better at navigating real world obstacles!

HONEY FOR ADOPTION Honey is a 10 month old, female, mixbreed puppy. She is crate trained, house broken, and knows commands. She walks well on a martingale collar. Honey has a sweet disposition a soft temperment, and moderate to low exercise needs. She is a little insecure. I am looking for a family that can help build her confidence through socialization and continued training. Honey is friendly with people and other dogs, though she is ultra submissive with other dogs. Unfortunately, it is not working out between Honey and the other dog in her home so her current owner is looking to rehome. If interested, please contact Kelly Singleton at 703-867-2614.
