A relatively boring video 😂. While Worthy is the friendliest horse on the farm, he’s not always the most mentally present. That causes him to sometimes get flustered and confused by what’s being asked. I’ve been thinking out of the box with helping him to focus more, by giving him tasks that require him to really pay attention to my body language. We won’t be working at liberty anytime soon, but this wasn’t too bad for little mister scramblebrain’s first go. 🦄❤️ #chestnutshavemorefun
Mimi has been making real progress! She and Benelli are cute as a button together. 🥰🦄 #ottb #fauquiercounty
We’ve got a lot of attention seekers 😂🦄 #eventerproblems #fauquiercounty
Little baby Ghost is just so smart and brave!! 🥰🦄 #tbpower
Twas a bit hot, but it didn’t slow these pairs down! 🦄❤️ #unicornsoface
IYKYK 🦄😂 #swiftie @go_riding @goeventing #eventerproblems
We did A LOT of sweating today!! But also a lot of being impressed with our horses and ourselves. Are you ever all that hot when you’re busy cheering your friends on? 🦄🦄 #unicornsoface
I know my riders can relate 😂 @goeventing @go_riding #eventerproblems
It may appear like we wear many hats around here. But really the only one that matters, it’s happy horses and humans. We checked both of those boxes at Loudon on Wednesday 🦄❤️ #happyhorses #fauquiercounty
Good day? No we had a great day at Middleburg Horse Trials over the weekend. ❤️ #tbpower
It can be so hard to ride a horse you don’t fully trust. Particularly because it causes us to ride like we don’t trust them. Horses are such kind creatures, and they go the way they’re ridden for better or worse. So if we expect more results, that’s what they give us. Tux here lacks confidence and had spent some time with me in training learning that he can trust himself, the exercises and succeed. Now, his mom is learning the same thing. The game changer for her has been entering an exercise with the plan to expect it’ll go well. And what do you know? It’s been going well 😍🦄 #fauquiercounty #ottb
We’ve answered the age old question.. how many horse girls does it take to mount a stall fan? 😂🦄 @goeventing @go_riding #eventerproblems
What a day we had at @huntclubfarms !! Despite the rain everyone finished in the ribbons. Our riders conquered the Prelim, BN and Viking divisions and I couldn’t be more proud of their effort! 🦄❤️ #teamwork
Third ride off the track and the last ride(and time I did anything with her) was January ‘23. Definitely has the best brain. Who wants to add Quarantella to their herd?
We don’t pick favorites around here… but if we happened to, Cindy White’s Elle would be a contender. Here’s her adorable 6th place round from Sunday.
The ACE crew had an awesome outing to @ajumpabovehs on Sunday. Everyone had successful rounds and even came home with some ribbons. Over the winter these duos have been working on consistent rhythms, correct and quiet positions, and riding their whole course(not just the jumps). We definitely got to see that hard work pay off. A specific and delightful shout out to Cadillac and Izzy for earning a blue in the 2’ at their first competition together 🦄
We talk so much about “feel” under saddle. It doesn’t always go past the talking stage because often we don’t have good exercises to teach feel. This lesson was all about helping the kids learn to “feel” what leg was leading in order to make diagonals and leads easier. So we started with a single pole on the ground at the walk and trot. When they could see which leg went over pole first, we added the challenge of trying to feel which one went over first. Then we moved on to the jumps, with the goal of feeling on take off which lead our horse was on, so that on landing we’d be prepared with the answer.. stay on our lead or change it. Jimmy would often say that good riders would land and decide what needed to be done and great riders land knowing what needs to be done. This exercise is a great way to build up your ability to land “with the answer”. And if you’re not watching this for the educational factor… you definitely can atleast appreciate the cuteness!! #ponypower
HUGE congrats to Leigh and Mo for completing their first BN together. They had their best dressage to date, a civilized and safe SJ, and a nearly flawless XC. It’s been so fun watching this team grow and accomplish their goals.
This is how we celebrated Mo’s very first(and successful!!) BN and Jess and Duncan’s 4th place finish in Training at Morven.
We kicked off our season at Southern Pines Horse Trials last weekend. Always worth the trip, even with the rain. Both duos laid down 3 solid phases and finished in 6th!! #baysfordays
