CCAC is now Wags&Whiskers! As many of you already know, Concerned Citizens for Animal Care of Warren County (CCAC) was formed in 2001 by a group of animal lovers with the goal of building an animal shelter to serve the needs of our pets of Warren County. The boards began fundraising and, with your support, our first goal of $150,000 was met in 2018. After years of searching for an appropriate location, the owners of Innsbrook Resort have purchased a parcel of land and designated it for our shelter, which is near the intersection of Highways F and M, a great location! We will be partnering with them on the shelter build. So… the focus of CCAC has now changed from one devoted to raising funds to build a shelter to now plan the shelter build and oversee its future operation.

The new name of our organization will also be the name of our shelter and one that we feel will focus on our mission of caring for our dogs and cats.......Wags & Whiskers! We will now longer be posting on this page, so please click the link to our Wags & Whiskers page to follow our progress. You can also follow our website at www.wags-whiskers.org and on Twitter and Instagram . Thanks for your continued support!

This is just a cartoon, but also a reminder that your dog should never be out without a collar with tags and/or a phone number or a registered microchip. We want to make sure they get back home quickly!

**We are repeating this warning because it is very important that it reaches as many people as possible in our area**

We are getting LOTS of reports of raccoons showing signs of distemper! It is very early in the year and usually gets worse over the summer months. Signs include:

-Being out in the open during the day.
-Acting lethargic, disoriented, and losing fear of people.
-Eye/nasal drainage, thin, poor coat condition.

Distemper can be spread to unvaccinated pets! Check with your vet to make sure your pet’s vaccinations are up to date.
