Both love their doggy pool and walks in the woods.
Misty will fetch ball all day long as long as my arm holds out
Lucy loves her Mommy while Misty loves her Daddy
The girls love their gym classes with trainer Jeff. It gives them a great workout. It's helped strengthen their muscles and has given Misty more self-confidence. She is even learning to skateboard.
I think any dog and owner would benefit from the gym sessions as it strengthens the relationship between dog and owner.
Always a terrific workout. Nap time after gym class is a bonus!

Meet Summer, our Cool Dog of the week!
DOB: 02/22/2016
Parent: Kirsten
Likes: Ball, being the center of attention, puzzles, ball, did I mention ball?
Dislikes: Any dog that looks at her ball or favorite people, noisy plastic bags, questionable lawn decor and her arch nemesis the mailman.
Fun Fact: Ball obsession has lead to Summer making her own games when human is too tired to throw ball. Those games include one dog hide-n-seek, drop ball down hill and chase, wave ball (best played in the ocean) and drop ball behind furniture and bark for it until human finally rescues it.

She also has learned to do all the activities laid out for her instead of just what she wants to do which is great for a dog who is extremely stubborn and tends to hyper focus.” - Kirsten (Summer’s mom)

Lucas is an amazing little dude! His weekly workouts have definitely improved his arthritis, speed and energy levels. You’d never guess he is 11 when you see him zip around the gym.
Workouts are especially important for senior dogs. We start at a much slower pace and focus on strengthening and conditioning. It has done wonders for many of our senior pups by putting the pep back in their step.

Fun Fact: Twenty minutes before his sessions at Cool Dog, he consistently starts alerting us that it is time to get ready and go!
“Lucas has always had boundless energy, but about two years ago, we noticed that he stopped running and jumping as much as he used to and we found out that he had developed arthritis. Since starting his gym classes at Cool Dog, he has no longer needed pain medications and started running and jumping again as if he was a puppy!” - Jen (Lucas’ mom)

Fun Fact: Reuben has a sister named Hazel from the litter before him and they are friends and see each other for playdates.

“Reuben LOVES his gym classes at Cool Dog with Mike. He is agile, learning new things which would "scare him" such as pushing a skateboard and going through a tunnel. He can master an obstacle course. He listens better, gets into "place" more easily and is being pushed to do things that he normally would not do. Fast is his preferred speed and there’s no obstacle in the gym that’s too big for him.

Fun Fact: Copper is an adventurous pup and enjoys traveling with his pawrents on pet-friendly vacations.

“Copper is a pandemic pup so his interactions with people and dogs were at a minimum during the start of his life. Going to classes at Cool Dog changed the game. Copper was exposed to new people and dogs. He really came into his own and became more confident than ever. The staff at Cool Dog are wonderful and really care about the dogs that come their way. We never thought Penny would enjoy going to the gym. She is more of a cuddles then one who wants to play.
Ever since we took over the gym I started bringing Penny to most of Falkor’s workouts.

Penny quickly became the star. She loves to get praise, earn her treats and is eager to please.
She loves the peanut room and working on her core strength.

Likes/Dislikes: Loves: her Poppi, cuddles and pets, treats and playing Nerf Gun. Dislikes: loud noises, thunderstorms, being home alone, when her little brother stomps on her playfully


Favorite Person: her Poppi, Nicole’s dad. She used to run straight up his body like the Malinois that run up brick walls

Fun Fact: Penny helped detect her Grammi’s cancer! Penny never bonded with her Grammi when she came home and settled into the pack. Out of nowhere Penny cuddled her Grammi and would lay on her chest and soon after her cancer was diagnosed. Grammi is fine now and they are still very close.

What impact have gym sessions/Puppy classes had on you and/or your dog? (health demeanor, relationship, etc) Penny is a nervous, anxious dog so i figured she hate the gym. It was exactly opposite. Penny LOVES earning her cookies and making her pawrents proud of her. She is older so we go slow with her and focus on building her core strength, conditioning and stretching exercises. She has lost weight, her limping has improved and our bond has grown stronger.

What would you say to someone interested in starting gym sessions/Puppy classes? Every human and dog can learn something and it will increase the bond you have with your pup. Socializing dogs at a young age is vital if they are going to be social dogs as adults. It gives my reactive dog a safe space indoors that she LOVES going to. She trusts all her hooman pack at Cool Dog and loves getting a cookie every time she comes in.

“Missi has never been very confident so we started going to Cool Dog Gear to help with that and socialization. Over the past two years, she has gotten so much more comfortable around other dogs, and more confident in her own abilities. She is constantly overcoming her nerves on various pieces of equipment, most notably now being comfortable touching the peanuts and FINALLY GOING THROUGH THE TUNNELS!” - Ann (Missi’s mom)

For the majority of Bear’s time at puppy socials, he was terrified of most of the equipment. He only came to play with his furiends and get belly rubs.

Now that he has graduated to private workouts, he loves all the individual attention and he will do almost anything for a belly rub or butt scratch.

He still thinks he is a 20lb lapdog but now he earns his cuddles by working hard!💪🏻🦴🐶

Christmas in July is coming to Cool Dog Gear!

The Real Pet Santa will be here for photo ops with your pets. As always there is no charge for photos, but we kindly request a donation for this event's chosen rescue: Heart Rescue Group (help every animal restore trust).

Lina Chero, Animal Communicator will be doing mini readings for your pet for a minimum of $20 donation.

Cooper & Friends, a local treat company, will be here with samples!

We will have four raffle baskets. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
Basket themes are: Puppy Starter Pack, Boredom Busters, Shop Local (all PA based products) and Outdoor Gear (featuring a Kurgo Lifejacket in winner's choice of size)

There will also be a number of special sales and surprises during the event that we will announce later!

Meet Bear, our Cool Dog of the week!

DOB: January 14, 2021
Parents: Kris and Karl
Likes: Gym time at Cool Dog, raspberries and strawberries, riding in the car with his head out the window, belly rubs, sitting on humans so they have no choice but to give him attention
Dislikes: rain, vacuums, baby gates and puppy sister getting more attention than him
Fun Fact: Bear had a session with an animal communicator (at Cool Dog) and he let them know what food was causing his allergies. We eliminated the food that Bear specified and his skin, ear and eye infections went away!
