The “Birdboy”….. So much more than someone who just throws birds. I will forever be grateful for the bird throwers because without them it makes our job as trainers a hell of a lot harder. So here’s to TJ, thank you for all you do around the kennel and for the dogs.

This weekend we headed up to Maryland for the Conowingo Hunting Retriever Club fall test. This club holds a special place in my heart. Despite some VERY challenging tests, the crew was able to round out the weekend going 14/16 and I am so proud to stand next to these dogs. Thank you so much to all the club members and volunteers who busted their tales all weekend. Thank you to the judges for your time and great tests, and thank you to Mrs. Gabby who owns this beautiful land.

WE ARE HIRING!!!

We are a Labrador retriever training facility that specializes in training for waterfowl hunting and AKC/HRC hunt tests.

We are in search of a kennel tech/bird boy/girl!

YOU MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE KENNEL FOR THIS JOB. Transportation to and from training grounds (daily) will be provided.

Located in Haynesville, VA. We also spend July/August in Michigan and January/February in Florida. Applicants who are willing/able to make those trips will be given first priority.

This is typically a M-F job, if you’re also available some weekends as well that’s a plus!

The responsibilities of this job will include, but are not limited to:
• cleaning/sanitizing kennels, thoroughly
• feeding dogs
• letting dogs into airing yards/putting them back into their kennels
• cleaning/sanitizing airing yards, thoroughly (picking up 💩)
• throwing dead ducks
• kennel duty if/when we go out of town
•minor landscaping around kennel. (W**d eating, w**d pulling,etc)

This would be a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to learn to train dogs, as there is room for growth with this position for the right individual.

If you love dogs and love to be outside (and you’re not scared of a little dog p**p and handling dead ducks) this is the job for you! Must have attention to detail, be able to take instructions, a hard worker, and have common sense.

Pay will be discussed with the right applicant.
