**Update**
[We were notified last night that Miss Sheba has found a home! Thank you everyone for sharing and helping make this possible!]
Baby Sheba is approximately 5 or 6 years old. She is unspayed and not up to date on her vaccinations but is sadly looking for a new home. Her mommy and daddy can no longer care for her due to their health. Her current care givers have contacted Tracking in the Shadows Rescue for possible foster placement until she's updated on everything and ready for a new home. If you'd be interested in giving Baby Sheba a home please contact us here on Facebook and we can get you in contact with her care givers.

I'd like to give a huge SORRY that we have been so behind in posting pictures or reels! We've had a lot going on! We thought this August's 8 year Anniversary would be filled with lots of exciting new things for Pups Prairie. We have been purging our possessions and building up for our HUGE Garage Sale the 9th and 10th!! We were so excited about the potential of expansion for our business but sadly after hours and days of mind planning and talking with lenders and our mortgage company, this won't be the year π’.
However, that will not be changing anything we do! Just because we aren't expanding or relocating, doesn't mean we won't be here when you need us! We'll still be providing the best pet friendly environment and fun for our guests! Our rates and policy are firm, however we completely understand that times are tough with the economy and we don't want your furbabies to suffer their comfort when the wallet and/or purse stings are tight. Just contact us about special pricing for hardships. We'll keep it confidential.
With that being said, please be advised our home business will be under construction as we work on making some updated touches. Don't hesitate to reach out if you want individual pictures while your furbaby is here, we'll try to get them sent over as soon as we can!

Thank you for all the kinds words and prayers yesterday for our family. The past few weeks have been very rough on us. First making the ultimate decision to have our precious live in guest, Miss Chelsea, be helped to the other side of the rainbow bridge as her health deteriorated to the point were pain management for comfort would have left her here for selfish reasons. So after talking with her owners we decided to have her go out with the beauty of the day and some dignity still intact. She was an amazing companion to us all and she is greatly missed. Once our dearest Philo had lost all vision and sound, Chelsea was his beacon. He followed her scent everywhere and was almost always by herside when indoors. With her passing he was dazed and confused. Running into everything and stumbling around to get his bearings. Sadly he finally gave up his will to live without her and passed away naturally. Yesterday was a true struggle for us all. Yes, they were both old and always underfoot but as we look back and reflect on their lives before us and with us, we know they both lived a good and fulfilled life. Both of them are now with our past bazillion furry friends and furry family members. They too will be missed as we cherish all the good times we had with them. Today is a very sad day for me personally as I look back and reflect on the fact that this is the first day in 21 years that my home has been devoid of a Papillon π. A first since I fell in love with the breed at the age of 17. My precious Philo was the end of my Papillon run. Without them my heart is broken π.

π The right words are always so hard to find to say when the day comes. Philo came to our family as a prior grooming client. When they began looking to rehome him we said Yes without even a second guess! The rest is our history. He meshed into our life's like he had always belonged. He already knew our other dogs and loved us unconditionally π. We were blessed to spend the past 6 years spoiling him and giving him the best life possible. It's a very sad day to see you go but to know you will once again run free and happy with sight and sound once again is bitter sweet. Philo you will be missed forever π. It breaks our hearts to say goodbye. Tell all your siblings how much we miss them and love them on the other side of that beautiful rainbow bridge. Rest in Peace our precious baby boy π we love you. Philo December 31, 2011- June 1, 2024.

For those of you who haven't been following us since 2021, welcome you to our Pups Prairie Page! This page was originally created to show off my dog grooming skills and all my fun furry daycare and furguests while they were in my care. I sadly am no longer able to dog groom anymore due to my health but my family and I still host doggie daycare and pet-sitting here in our multi-pet-loving home π₯°.
I, Amy Hutcherson, which I operate my services under, would love to offer you all a good look into what my family and I offer:
We offer our doggie daycare at a very reasonable rate of just $15 for the day between 7am and 7pm seven days a week. We do ask an additional $5 convenience fee for drop offs earlier or pickups later than these 12 hours. Not only that but we offer all of our furguests to interact and be part of our family whether it's just for the day or if they're staying overnight at only $30 a night (per furbaby or as a family rate)!
Our fur guests, like our own furbabies, have access to not only all of our home (most in our king sized bed π), but they have free access to a doggie door which allows them free roam of our enclosed Astroturf yard. Then when weather is permitting we do have a larger yard for them to stretch their legs out in for running and relaxing in the grass under the shade of our mature trees.
With all of that being said, we hope you enjoy following our page, we try to post pictures or reels weekly to show how much fun everyone's having.

Nugget wants you all to know, even though he looks mighty fine in his cool eclipse glasses, all furbabies will be enjoying the indoors during the eclipse for their safety. We advise everyone else to do the same.

It's been about a year and our friend has tried to make things work at home but sadly it's just too much stress for a single full time working mother of 2 children to handle. So, we're reaching out to try and help her find her precious duo of boys a perfect loving home together (we will not separate them!) π. Please feel free to share. They are social and Good with cats.

We're helping a client of ours to rehome her sweet baby girl. Please share so we can meet her timeline of finding a new family. Please contact us at Pups Prairie via instant messenger for serious inquiries and we can get you in contact with Bailey's mom.
Hello everyone my name is Bailey, Iβm a 3 year old staffordshire bull terrier looking for a new home. I love to be played with and love pets especially on my butt. I also love my naps and being cuddled. I wonβt go potty in the house and I'm crate trained. I do like to show how much I love you when I meet you Iβll almost jump in your arms if you let me. I get along with other dogs but Iβm not sure how I feel about cats I have not been around them much. I have all my shots and can give you my doctors number for when I need more. I am spayed as well. My mom is looking for someone who can spend more time with me and get me outside more. If you would like to take me home it will be a $25 rehoming fee and Iβm hoping to meet you by march 1st.

Happy Birthday to Nugget and Coal!
Such a tranquil evening π₯°. This is our new evening routine before bed, but I wanted to video it while it was still light out. Joo-Joo runs them down the fence for an hour from the big yard, this allows everyone to sleep for 8+ hours from exhaustion π Hallelujah π.
Follow us as we take our playtime with the big kids from the Astroturf yard out to the big yard to stretch out and burn off some pint up steam.
My name is Amy, I am the sole owner of Pups Prairie. Here is my story.
I have always had a love for animals. I got my first dog in November 1998. She was a gorgeous Black Cocker Spaniel/ Basset Hound, named Gabby. She was the best and worst of both breeds. She was loving, devotional, mouthy and smelly! She had reactions to vaccines, so no groomers would take her. So my dad showed me how to use dog clippers and my mom showed me how to care for her properly, from smelly ears to basset toes.
In 2003 I purchased my first set of breeding Papillons. We were blessed with 2 litters before I decided to retire them due to my females health issues. In 2004, my parents opened up Ruff Inn Kennel & Pet Resort, a dog and cat boarding facility. In 2005, I got a job working at Pet Supplies Plus, where I learned about pet nutrition and was the youngest Store Assistant at the age 18. This job only lasted 6 months, because Ruff Inn Kennel was running full swing and a Doggie Daycare was needed. So I began caring for a loving Pitbull with destructive separation anxiety.
In 2006, I got married and we decided to have a family. As our family grew, so did our household. In 2009, we became a foster home for dogs in the local shelter, who needed more interactions with pets and people. So, we began adding to our small family.
In 2010, My Best Friend and first canine companion, Gabby, crossed over the rainbow bridge. This was a very dark time for me personally. I had to overcome so many emotional hurdles. After loosing her, I felt compelled to open up my first privately owned dog rescue, Stray Awhile Bed and Breakfast. I poured all of my free time and hard earned money into it. Burying all of my sorrow and loss I began adopting 5 dogs at a time from the local shelter; I got them spayed/ neutered, current on all vaccinations, worked on their socialization then I adopted them out to loving families for FREE!!! or a 40lb bag of dog food. This was a huge financial loss, but it helped move so many animals out of the shelter. I closed the doors to my rescue after less than a year.
In 2011, my husband and I decided to purchase our first home closer to town but in the country, with plans to open up my own home-operated business. In 2014, I began grooming some of Ruff Innβs more pickier of pets. The ones who didnβt like visiting the groomers. This is where I learned how to scissor trim, because clippers scared them so much, that the families just quit taking them to the groomer.
In 2015, I opened a trial Pups Prairieβs Doggie Daycare 2 days a week at our future location. With a very low turn out rate and very little room to play during bad weather, I ended the trial daycare and began grooming full- time at Ruff Inn Kennel & Pet Resort.
We have designed our future buildings and are now currently working on our funding. Our goal is to build a small grooming salon, where the proceeds then go towards our future pet rescue. Weβll be helping out families who can no longer care for their furry companions. Weβll be a safe place to surrender to and adopt from, with hopes of continued visits to their loving groomer. Weβll also be a safe place for Seniors to retire their Seniors too. Senior pets are highly less adoptable at shelters, these babies go thru depression and often get over looked due to their age or timidness. Weβll be a place where they wont get over looked, for theyβll be looked at and loved on every time our grooming clients visit, because every grooming appointment will approximately fund one senior pet for a month.
