It's so hard to believe that 2024 is almost over, but by God we are so very thankful! 2024 has been the year that we will choose to of lived and let go! Looking back, I'd rather live 2020 all over again, and that year was horrible for everyone! April 2020 found me vehicle-less, abandoned by my spouse, struggling to live on only $3,000 cash to my name! No debit cards, mounds of medical and financial debt and no income! So stressed to the limit that my body literally began to shut down on me. I reached down deep and found my strength in God, he pulled me up and out of it all. I found forgiveness for all those who sinned and tresspassed against me. I found my inner light and chose to change my life for the better. I opened my home up as a home business and began doing what I loved from home in May! I resumed grooming my clients dogs, while offering my doggie daycare clients days throughout the week. Then I decided to dig a little deeper and began offering pet-sitting in my home. I began focusing on self-care and compassion for others. I started dating and by August 2020, I found the love of my life. By, October I was officially divorced and ready to move on with my life. We got married on Valentine's Day 2021. Together we have spent the years since, clawing our way up and out of debt, medical scares, the closing of my grooming salon, loosing countless clients and furclients, through parenting-times, learning to co-parent, working dead-end jobs just to get the bills paid on time and keep a roof over our families heads. We have lost so many furbabies along the way and yet today we find our home blessed and yet filled to the brim. Today, December 31st we will be closing our Pups Prairie Story. It's been a long and winding road. We will choose to look back and remember all the good days and try to not dwell on all the bad ones. Tonight, at midnight when we ring in the new season, we will be closing Pups Prairie and launching the beginning of a new story!

Today was a fantastic day for productivity. I had Roxie and Watson come for their nails, so I made today nails day for all the Pups of Pups Prairie plus some of the daycare pups. Then we ran around outside in the Astroturf yard then we came inside to play ball. While everyone had nap time, Baby Luca had a therapeutic Arnica Oil massage and heat pad session. Lots of cuddles and snuggles today and of course kisses 💋.

I, Amy, want to personally thank each and every single one of you who has used our services in the past 2 weeks. Whether it was for daycare, grooming, or for our in home pet services. Thank you for your patronage and loyalty. Thank you for reminding us why we do what we do! These past few years have been such a struggle for us and we know it has been for you all as well! Just remember we do offer financial assistance rates 😉 if needed, especially if you are going through hardships like we have. We completely understand and your furbabies should NOT have to suffer the pinched purse and wallets. Just privately message us and we can talk. Have a blessed day and may you find kindness, happiness and compassion throughout your day. If not be the kindness, happiness and compassion for others so that they too may share the blessing ✨️.

09/05/2024

With business slow the past month and a million things needed to be updated and/ or repaired, Momma has been super busy! Loose trim has all been resecured, a brand new "Quiet" Dutch door has been installed in the pantry along with a 50lb self-feeder for our puppers, pictures and shelving has been installed to keep our hats and coats out of puppers chew range, the kids and I patched up some of the chewed and dug up astroturf areas and added some broken up concrete slabs around some of the boarder to dissuade them from messing with those areas, last month our puppers expensive cages got destroyed when a furguest wanted to test out their durability have now been modified to be usable again, the kids and I removed a cupboard to the daycare room for another place for the dogs to nap in and then built a small kitchen table with comfortable bar stools in it's place, I drywall patched the eaten plaster on our stairway, designed a dog food pantry for our furguests food with an organized medication drawer for emergency needs and a shelf to store food bowls and soft food, and then I built the puppers a clubhouse under the stairs for a fun area because why not!?! I'd say August was a very productive project month! Now that repairs have been made and our home has had some upgrades and schools are all back in full swing, let's get Pups Prairie back into full swing for those daycare and pet-sitting needs. Remember, our doors will ONLY be able to remain open if we have clients. Our rates will not be raised and we offer assistance rates if needed, as we all know how bad the economy is right now, all politics aside 🥴. Daycare is open 7am until 7pm and is $15 for the day. Overnight stays are $30 and your furbabies are treated just like one of our family in our home (Yes, only $30 no matter if you have just one or if you have a full bed load like us, it's still just $30 per night 😀).

Our Story

My name is Amy, I am the sole owner of Pups Prairie. Here is my story.

I have always had a love for animals. I got my first dog in November 1998. She was a gorgeous Black Cocker Spaniel/ Basset Hound, named Gabby. She was the best and worst of both breeds. She was loving, devotional, mouthy and smelly! She had reactions to vaccines, so no groomers would take her. So my dad showed me how to use dog clippers and my mom showed me how to care for her properly, from smelly ears to basset toes.

In 2003 I purchased my first set of breeding Papillons. We were blessed with 2 litters before I decided to retire them due to my females health issues. In 2004, my parents opened up Ruff Inn Kennel & Pet Resort, a dog and cat boarding facility. In 2005, I got a job working at Pet Supplies Plus, where I learned about pet nutrition and was the youngest Store Assistant at the age 18. This job only lasted 6 months, because Ruff Inn Kennel was running full swing and a Doggie Daycare was needed. So I began caring for a loving Pitbull with destructive separation anxiety.

In 2006, I got married and we decided to have a family. As our family grew, so did our household. In 2009, we became a foster home for dogs in the local shelter, who needed more interactions with pets and people. So, we began adding to our small family.
