Popeye is a MoCo Mutts Rescue Center rescue! Popeye was a stray with a shattered leg. Unfortunately it couldn’t be saved so we had to remove it. It ended up getting infected so he had to have an extended stay with us to nurse him back to health! Our Dr. Smith ended up falling in love with him and now he lives with her. Popeye now has two kids to love him and a dog to annoy! We are selling stockings the entire month of December where ALL the proceeds go to MocoMutts! Stockings have goodies for your furry family members and make great gifts!

Blanche and Dorothy are MocoMutts Rescues! The girls were dropped off with their mom and 8 other siblings at the Moco mutts. They had severe upper respiratory infections and weighed less than a pound, which was a quarter of what their litter mates weighed. They had to be bottle fed and on several rounds of antibiotics. They became a member of the family quickly and found their forever home among our tech, Shannon’s mayhem household 💜 please support MoCo Mutts Rescue Center by stopping by today to get stockings for your pets! MocoMutts resale store will also have a few stockings to sell!

Is your horse up to date on vaccines?

October 22, 2024 UPDATE: Another equine case has been detected in Gibson County. Continue to implement vector precautions.

--
TDA’s Animal Health Division confirms a positive case of West Nile Virus in a horse in Morgan County. This serves as a reminder of the importance of vaccination and proactive health measures.

- Vaccinate Your Horses: Ensure your horses are up-to-date with their vaccinations. This is the most effective way to prevent West Nile Virus and other infectious diseases.
- Control Mosquito Populations: These pests are the primary vectors for West Nile Virus. Reduce standing water around your property, use mosquito repellents, and install screens or nets to minimize exposure to animals and humans.
- Monitor for Symptoms: Be vigilant for any signs of illness in your horses, such as fever, weakness, or neurological signs, and consult your veterinarian immediately if you notice anything unusual.
- Spread Awareness: Share this information with fellow horse owners and local communities. The more people know, the better.
