Our office is continuing to collect school supplies through this Friday, this benefits the free to the public Back to School Bash Drive through at Christiana Elementary School. This is a free to the public event, the families drive through and the backpacks full of supplies are given out!

Great information to know!

You may wonder why we pull back into the syringe when giving injections in the vein. This picture explains why. We don't pull back to make sure we're in the vessel, we do it to make sure we're in the RIGHT vessel. Today I went to give an injection and pulled back and saw blood brighter than I wanted. I decided to go and get a new dose of sedation and once again pulled back and then gave my dose of sedation. The syringe on the left was my first injection and the syringe on the right was my second injection. Does anyone know why I shouldn't have injected that first syringe? And had I injected that first injection, what would have happened?

Whenever you see Benny you will see Miss Kitty, I’ve never seen a relationship between cat and horse like theirs. She hangs around him almost all day, purring, rubbing against his legs, his head and even jumping up on his head to play. Just precious to watch how beautiful they are together.

This Old Horse This old horse, the Rancher said, she’s seen some better days, she’s eating up my profits, and costs a lot for hay. Another horse would suit me, a stronger one at that, shes seen a lot of miles just like my cowboy hat. This old horse, the Rancher said, she helped me herd my steer, I’m pretty sure shes magic, I know I hold her dear. Another horse would suit me, one that can run fast, maybe one that’s younger, or maybe one that lasts. This old horse, the Rancher said, she’s long and far in tooth, my children do remember, her fondly from their youth. Another horse would suit me, a gelding in his prime, one that needs less fixin’, that helps me save a dime. Why, they asked, then keep her? why not trade her now? bring her to an auction? replace her with a cow? The Rancher's brow grew heavy, As he took a staggered step his eyes did show his hardships, in wrinkles, as they crept. His breath, he took in deeply, as he poised to say his words, it’s as if the earth grew silent, that his message should be heard. Another horse would suit me, This old horse, the Rancher said, has given me her life, I wouldn’t trade for anything, nor either, would my wife. and perhaps someday will come, but this old gal, I love her, she is the chosen one. This old horse, the Rancher said, her service she did lend, her and I, have seen the years, this old horse, she is my friend. Another horse would suit me well, but her home is here to keep, I owe her sanctuary, my love for her is deep. Our Story

On our small family farm located in the hills of Wartrace, TN. We specialize in raising Irish Dexter Cattle, Dun in color, A2A2 milk casein and have an all PHA and Chondro free herd.

We began our Dexter journey about 3 years ago but have always dreamed of owning and raising our own beef cattle to be more self sufficient and to offer quality meat to our friends and family. Since starting we have fallen completely in love with the Dexter breed and can’t imagine eating beef anywhere but at home. The flavor and quality of our Dexter beef far exceeds anything we have ever eaten and we are proud to offer this now to our customers, friends and family.

Something I never dreamed we would enjoy is showing any but having now attended our first show and taking an animal I have found it to be a wonderful experience both prior to the event and attending. Before showing there is such a bond you development with the animals you are working with and nothing more satisfying then taking them and sharing with others how docile and trainable these cattle are.

To sum things up, Dexter cattle are a joy to own, they are very compatible with small sustainable farming and their beef is amazing. We would love to have you visit our farm anytime and let us share why they have stolen our hearts!
