Position Summary
Sugar Creek LLC seeks a Summer Intern to support day to day operations of it equine business. The
successful candidate will work directly with Master breeders, industry leading veterinarian's, and devout
horseman.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Daily horse care – Feeding, Watering, Cleaning water troughs, Picking stalls
 Daily farm maintenance – pressure washing, fixing fences, gravel dragging, any/all general
maintenance to the facility.
 Salesmanship – Help with the industry leading yearling sale and learn the process of selling TN
walking horses.
 Pedigree knowledge of all horses consigned to “The Yearling Gathering at Sugar Creek”
 Stallion grooming – Washing, clipping and general grooming of studs for showings.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 Problem solving skills
 Willingness to learn and be adaptive
 Able to lift 50lbs
 Able to run and jog
 General Horsemanship
 Detail Orientated
 Punctual

TWHBEA Offers Incentive for Extreme Cowboy Race National Championships . . .
In an effort to reward Tennessee Walking Horse owners where they excel in various disciplines, TWHBEA is offering a $1,000 incentive that will be split between the top registered Tennessee Walking Horses in each division of the Extreme Cowboy Race National Championships. The event is scheduled for June 1-2, 2024 in Champions Arena on the grounds of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. Extreme Cowboy Races consist of obstacles such as water crossings, moguls, side-pass, bridges, back-thrus, jumps and other interesting obstacles. Horsemanship with speed provides an exciting event for competitors and spectators. TWHBEA will also offer breakfast to attendees both mornings of the event beginning at 7am in the Satellite Office. TWHBEA and the Glen C. Dowell Family recognize that youth are vital to the successful future of the Tennessee Walking Horse industry and awards both graduate and undergraduate scholarships each year. Scholarships can be used for accredited colleges, junior colleges, universities, or trade schools. The scholarship amounts are based on availability of funds and the selection is based equally on academic performance, extracurricular activities, and equine involvement.
