It’s Makoto & Rex’s first day of Puppy Academy! 📚

Makoto is a 4 month old Shih Tzu & Rex is a 3 month old French Bulldog/Cane Corso and they both hit it off at their first day of school!

They got to both work with our trainers, meet the staff, go for some structured walks and enjoy some recess today and they both settled in beautifully!

They’re both incredibly smart and we’re excited to see the progress they both make in the upcoming weeks!

We had one space open up for our Academy Program (Puppy, Foundation or Advanced) starting this coming week of 11/18!

This is a 5 week Day School Program where your pup attends 3-5 days per week! Weekly homework assignments and report cards are provided along with 2 in-home follow up lessons!

They did it! 🎓

Brody & Jake have both graduated from our Academy Training Program! These two have been so much fun to have in school and they are both so incredibly smart!

Now, they both have follow-up lessons with their owners to make sure that all of their training is well understood at home as well and to answer any questions!

Meet 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒎 🖤

Venom is a 20 month old intact German Shepherd Dog that is with us this week for an Obedience Board & Train Program! As Venom’s co-breeder, I’m really happy to have him here for his first formal training program to begin his career as a potential Service Dog.

Yesterday & this morning, our focus has been on setting some rules, structure & expectations. Venom is an incredibly happy boy so we want to put all of that well-meant energy into some manners! He’s off to a great start and has been doing phenomenal with his structured walks!

Luke graduated our Puppy Academy Training Program today! He has done such great work with Trainer Ashley over the past few weeks and he is one exceptional pup! Luke is on his way to becoming a Canine Good Citizen as he graduates into the next level of training! We’re so excited to watch this boy continue to excel over the next couple of weeks! Academy Student Piper had her training field trip to Lowe’s today! She walked beautifully on a loose leash next to a carriage, completed [many] sit for pettings, held sit & down stays and overall was just such a good girl! Great job Piper!

It’s time again to share the position statement from the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior regarding Puppy Socialization!

We’ve been recently getting a lot of new puppy owners receiving the advise of waiting until a puppy is fully complete with their vaccination schedule in order to begin socializing their puppy. Puppy Vaccination Schedules typically run the puppy past 16+ weeks of age which can be detrimental to a puppy’s socialization.

The primary socialization window for a puppy typically stems from 3-16 weeks of age! We recommend that puppies start in a program, such as our Puppy Academy Training Program around 9 weeks of age. This has them being in their new homes for a week prior to beginning a training program, they should have their distemper vaccination series started, we require a bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination and for the puppies to have a negative f***l in order to participate. This keeps the puppies safe, happy & able to get a proper foundation on their socialization journey!

Meet Jake!

Jake is a 10 month old German Shepherd Dog that is new to our Academy Program! With Jake, we’re working on some confidence building, socialization, obedience, leash manners and more!

He’s a fun boy who’s already improving! He quickly made friends with Staff Dog Malibu!
