Waseca Vet Clinic had a Holiday tree as well. We are looking for people to pay on our vet bills, buy science diet food, Revolution for dogs and cats. 🐈‍⬛ Please give us one good push to get us into the new year. 🐕

Sited cat. Has been hanging around since December 24th. About 5 miles out of Waseca by Courthouse Park. Tame.
This cat could have crawled up under the under carriage of a car and happened to get off at this location. Anyone missing this kitty?

BENCHS has some good news!

My name is Dede Barton and I am the new Executive Director at BENCHS! I am so honored and excited to be in this position. I am new to BENCHS, but have years of experience in Animal Welfare, as well as in corporate business.

I pride myself on being a results driven professional with exceptional interpersonal skills. My strengths are building relationships and helping to strategize innovative ideas.

I have been active in Animal Welfare since 2011, when first becoming a foster family for Waseca County Animal Humane Society. Since then, I have had every role within WCAHS, from boots on the ground rescue, Trap Neuter Release programs, to running the social media pages. I am also part of a network of leaders that run or manage rescues in Southern MN. Some of these leaders have helped create an advisory council that will help the Board of Directors steer BENCHS and myself on the right path.

For 10 years I was a Minnesota Federated Humane Societies State agent. I took on neglect cases in Southern MN up until two years ago. I would be remiss if I did not also mention my knowledge and experience of all livestock. This includes horses, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. I understand feeding, vetting requirements and shelter needs.

I worked hand in hand with many law enforcement agencies, specifically Waseca and LeSuer County, which has taken years to build and nurture. I am passionate about education! Neglect and surrender often comes from the lack of awareness and education on how animals need to be cared for. I am extremely passionate about animals and the fair treatment of them. I like collaboration and building key relationships. I want BENCHS to become a respected and integral part of this community and a resource for networking with all of the smaller rescues as well.

I want to thank a few of the local rescues that are standing beside BENCHS as we move onward to a new future: Mending Spirits Animal Rescue, Watonwan County Humane Society, Waseca County Animal Humane Society and For Pets.
