Happy adoption week to California Roll, Sweet Cheeks, Simone, Wagner, Mooch, Razzels, Babyruth, Latte, Spree, Dots, and Kitkat! We also have a beautiful going home photo for siblings Chalco and Custer (thank you for taking them both!) Many thanks to their adopters for choosing a Haven pet. We also appreciate the treats that have been delivered or are on their way for our pups. Some of our animals stay with us a very long time, and we think they deserve treats, toys, and all the good things while they're here. Thank you all for helping make that possible! ❤ Finally, we'd like to mention how much we appreciate being able to have our cats at Petsmart a couple weeks a month. We've had such good luck with adoptions there! Each of those cats who goes home makes it possible to save another!

We have several puppies who are already fixed and ready to go home. We sure do hate to see them growing up in a shelter, even a nice one! These babies need to be in a real home being showered with love, treats, toys, and attention. They are at a great age for housetraining and learning all the things you want to show them. ADOPTED! Remi will go home after her spay surgery. :)

Meet Remi! This sweet girl wandered onto the Haven property and tried to help the construction crew. She was on stray hold, but no one has claimed her. We think Remi is an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. Her estimated DOB is 11/21/2023. She is super friendly and very loving. If Remi is lost, we hope her people see her here (please provide proof of ownership). Otherwise, Remi will need a new home.

Remi will be available to go home on 9/11/24 but can be adopted any time. We believe she will be chosen by a family quickly. Meet her at the Haven open 9-4 each day!

Tostito is a handsome pup who is estimated to be about four months old. He's a good boy who wants people of his own to love. He's working on his leash manners, loves to play with other dogs, and will make a great addition to nearly any home. Tostito is ready to go home, so come meet him at the Haven open 9-4 each day!

Binnie really has no business in a shelter because he would fit into nearly any home so easily and with very little effort on the adopter's part. Sure, he'll have a short adjustment time, but Binnie is already housetrained, great on a leash, good with people of all ages, and does well with both cats and other dogs. He's a nice medium size and a perfect age at 3 years...young but past puppy mischief. His last owner moved and returned him to the Haven, but we hope his next family will be forever!

Max and Vlad are sweet seniors who came to the Haven after the loss of their human. They're older but still like to have some fun! We're hoping they can get back in a real home quickly. We also hope someone out there can open their home to both since they are used to living together. Please consider giving these dogs a retirement home where they can be comfortable and loved!

Siesta is right about three months old and is thought to be a Shepherd mix, although that's just a guess. Even a nice shelter is no place for a baby to grow up, so we hope a family will be waiting to take her home as soon as she's ready to leave us!

Shalimar is almost three months old and will be ready to go home soon. We're not sure of her breed, but she and her siblings look like they could possible be Shepherd mixes. Most kids either have gone back to school or are heading back this week. The house will be awfully lonely, so maybe it's time for some furry company! Kirwin is a darling little guy estimated at about 1 1/2 years. He's just under 10 pounds for a weight. He's not quite ready to leave us yet but will be soon. Come visit, and we can talk about adding him to your family!

Leon and Larned (both males) are the last two of their litter to need homes. These little Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes are about two months old and will be ready to leave us on August 28th. You can meet them at the Haven open 9-4 each day!

Meet Wagner! This little kitty is a fighter! He was found alone as a tiny baby. We were able to find him a new mom who took him in with her other babies. Then he came down with an upper respiratory infection which led to pneumonia but.... he kept on fighting! He is extremely playful and cuddly and is definitely a staff favorite. He now has a clean bill of health, is neutered, and ready for an indoor home where he'll be spoiled rotten!

Our thanks go out to the staff at Magers Health and Wellness at MSU for collecting donations for the Haven! It was in celebration of Haven friend and adopter Diane getting to become a part time Stay-at-Home cat (and dog) mom. We love it when people find creative ways to support our sanctuary and appreciate them thinking of us for this fun event!

Meet Sanford! Who could possibly resist this face? This sweet baby and his siblings are new additions to the Haven crew. We're unsure of their breed except that it is something cute. Bippity (known as D'Amelia in her previous home) is a beautiful girl with the look of a large Scottish Terrier mix. Her estimated DOB is 4/1/2019. She was returned to the Haven after living in a home for the past two years. She hopes to find her new home soon! She is crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained. She is good with cats and kids. Bippity can be dog selective, particularly when they enter her yard uninvited, so a meet and greet would be needed if there are canine siblings in the home. She would love to live in a home that has a big, fenced yard to run and play in. She is high energy and will thrive in an active household and with a family that has time to take her on walks and play with her. Her adoption fee is $90, and you can meet her at the Haven open 9-4 each day.

Spree is a beautiful kitty who is estimated to be just under 1 1/2 years old. It's unlikely she has ever been pampered, but we're sure she's going to love it! If you're looking for a best feline buddy to spoil, come meet Spree. Unless already adopted, you can meet her at Springfield Petsmart on Glenstone!

Beverly and Fay are super sweet, happy, and fun girls who are looking for an adopter who will keep them together. They are small girls at 15 and 22 pounds, and they are estimated at about 1 1/2 years old. Since they were strays, we don't know if they lived inside before coming to us. However, at the Haven, they are in an inside kennel and accustomed to using a doggy door. They get along well with other dogs and have made new canine friends while at the sanctuary. These girls really are the cutest little dogs and will make their new people so happy! Meet them at the Haven open 9-4 each day.

Haven kitties are moving back into the Glenstone Petsmart adoption center today, but we hope they won't have to stay there long before finding their people! The cats and kittens pictured here will be there for the next couple weeks or until they are adopted. Come choose your new best buddy soon!

Babyruth is a sweet and beautiful kitty who wants a family of her own. UPDATE: Cinema and friends are heading to Springfield Petsmart today, Wednesday the 14th, later this morning!

Cinema is so pretty! She's about three years old and has spent too much of her young life taking care of babies. However, her last litter is adopted, she is fixed, kitten days are over, and now it's time for someone else to pamper HER for a change! Her adoption fee is $65. You can meet Cinema at the Haven open 9-4 each day to give her the loving home she deserves!

Meet Busta Rymes! His estimated DOB is 12/14/2021, and he weighs in at 60lbs. Busta Rymes has a lot of energy and loves to romp and play. He would thrive in a home that can help him burn off some energy, whether it be walks on a leash or playing ball (which he loves).

Busta received training at a previous adopter and knows the commands sit, down, wait, place, and come. Busta is fantastic on a leash. He is dog selective and would need a proper introduction to canine buddies (he does like some) or to be the only pup in his home. However, Busta ignores other dogs when doing group walks and won't pull your arm off trying to get at the others. He does great with kids of all ages and is house and crate trained. His estimated DOB is 12/14/21. Busta's adoption fee is $90.

Enjoyed my walk with Melon today. He kept turning to watch me like he making sure I was doing okay. His eyes just melted my ❤️. Such a fantastic boy!! We have so many amazing dogs that deserve a loving home. If you have room in your home and your heart - please adopt!

How can anyone dump these cute faces on the road? They are obviously grateful for water because they hung out by their water bowls all day long. Meet Hershey Kiss, Danna, Jackson and Pawly! They were found on top of a box one morning when staff arrived. They had a really rough start and we call them our miracle babies. They won’t be ready to go home with you until 9/1 but come on out and reserve your new baby this weekend. They are all adorable, so picking just one will be tough. They really deserve the love and attention from their own special family.

LITTLE MAN IS ADOPTED! Dove L'Amore and Little Man are the last 2 of Cherr's puppies. They love to play and romp around. They are learning about the big world around them everyday. Today they have had some time in the office and now are enjoying the sunshine. They love people and other dogs. And LOVE TOYS! These will be big dogs.
