When teaching retrieves, I find the simplest way is backchaining! Start at the "final picture" and slowly add the preceeding steps!

Welcome little Mr. River to Inglenook Training Academy! This handsome little guy learned a lot at our evaluation today, and ended up falling asleep as we wrapped up the lesson with his humans.
I can't wait to work with this wonderful family as we set up this little guy for lifelong success!

If you're ever wondering "should I send this picture to my trainer".... 99.99% of the time they're like me and absolutely want to see pics & hear updates about your pets no matter how long it has been since our last session. ... as for the 0.01% of trainers who don't want updates.... well, I vote to drop them like a hot potato bc you & your pets deserve someone who loves your animals as much as you do. 🥰

Photos like these absolutely make my day and I wouldn't want it any other way.
