Even though professionals of color are implicitly expected to change who we are to fit in, this is soul-destroying.
I know it. You know it.
So let me say definitively that you do not have to erase who you are in order to get ahead.
Marie Johns, former President and CEO of Verizon and current CEO of PPC-Leftwich LLC shares how she responded when someone thought she wasn't ready for the VP role.
