We are currently closed for winter at the garden center, but landscaping and garden design services are still available! We are an urban garden center/ farm located in Brookland in Washington D.C. Since our grand opening in March of 2009, we've been called the "Green Beating Heart" of the city. We supply everything from annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs, to mulch, compost, top soil, propane,

and Christmas trees! We are a seasonal business. Starting on Black Friday each year we primarily sell Christmas trees, and once we've sold out we are closed until Spring. During the regular season we host a variety of events ranging from plant workshops, potlucks, and even outdoor movies! Thanks for your interest in OLD CITY GARDEN,

Happy Spring everyone!

Due to some changes at Olde City Garden, we have had to delay our opening this season. This has also led us to a “re-imagining” of the space. While we will still be hosting community events, we are going to delay our opening for retail sales indefinitely, with a goal to create a more unique offering for the community in the future.

In the meantime, we have several events upcoming to include some outdoor yoga and an evening of fire dancing with Sunset & Chill later this month on Saturday 4/27.

We hope to see you at one of these events or others to be scheduled, and wish you all a happy and bountiful gardening season!

THE CHRISTMAS TREES ARE HERE!!!
We have 5-6' & 6-7' trees in now! Quantities are limited, but the trees are beautiful!
We have mixed wreaths, Fraser fir wreaths & tree stands as well! See you soon!!!

ALSO, in a joint effort with Nova Arborist Urban Tree Enthusiasts, we have LIVE Christmas trees on sale for the first time ever this year! These will make an interesting and unique alternative to the traditional, disposable tree.

You can make these beautiful, decorated trees a permanent member of your family, and we are happy to plant them after the holiday for you with a LIFETIME guarantee!

So this year, why not adopt a tree for life? Great for the holiday, our environment, and for each of these beautiful, orphaned little specimen trees. We have evergreens and flowering deciduous trees alike.

We are an urban farm & garden center located in Brookland in Washington D.C. We opened at our original location in Shaw in March of 2009 and we were called the "Green Beating Heart" of Shaw. We love to provide access to green space for our community. We transformed the abandoned Shaw Jr High School into a public green space benefiting the environment and our community and are continuing to now do the same in Brookland. We’re all about helping you create the perfect garden for your home by helping you find gorgeous plants at our space or by using our landscaping and garden design services. We supply everything from annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs, to mulch, compost, pottery, and propane. We have a beautiful event space which we use for community workshops and private parties.
