Yelling at your dog might feel like a natural reaction, but here’s the truth: it’s not teaching them what you think it is. Dogs don’t process yelling the way we do. To them, it’s just noise—stressful, confusing noise. They don’t understand that you’re upset about their behavior, and they definitely don’t connect your anger to their actions. 🐾

Why does this happen?
🐩 Dogs don’t understand human values. They don’t know your shoes are precious or that the couch is off-limits (that’s something you teach).
🐩 Yelling triggers anxiety. Instead of learning, your dog might start avoiding you out of fear, making behavior problems worse.
🐩 It doesn’t redirect behavior. Your dog doesn’t learn what to do instead—they only know you’re upset.

The real solution? Teach, don’t punish. Redirect their behavior with patience and consistency. For example, if they’re chewing something they shouldn’t, replace it with a toy or chew they can use, and praise them when they make the right choice.

Happy dogs are confident learners, and trust us—it’s worth the effort. ❤️
